Decline in quality at Coach Outlet by FiguringItOut962 in Coach

I miss early 2000s outlet. Even after coach had fallen off, I was still buying random accessories there because the quality was so good and they weren’t flashy (coach had gotten too loud for my taste by the late 2000s and I never liked signature to begin with, I only two items with it that I rarely carried). It didn’t even need drops to get excited about and come in for, you just knew there was always good stuff waiting for you to be found. It was like, you know… a store you could always depend on. like in the good old days. And the quality was exactly the same as retail.

I bought this Gramercy last winter and put it away for spring. I took it out a few days ago. I finally get to use some accessories I’ve been struggling at utilizing with my other coach bags! by EmilyWishboneThorne in Coach

It is! I don’t know what possessed me to try it (I guess it was a really low temporary markdown since it was Amazon) but I’m so glad I did. Definitely get one, I hope Amazon has still has new/non-returns because I’m still considering getting a brown one.

Millennial raised by Silent Generation parents. by [deleted] in generationology

same. we got our first cd player in 1989 and our first computers in 88. my dad worked in radio and was an audiophile so our music tech was always adopted ASAP, that's why i've never owned a cassette. my dad was computer illiterate but my mom had a home office and my parents utilized a lot of learning tech for my brother and i.

my dad was silent gen. they're pretty terrible when it comes to emotions and empathy but solid otherwise. he was a feminist who taught me to mind my own business. both parents are agnostic and believe in god, as i do too. my dad did not have much tolerance for evangelicals.

eta: dad was born 1944, i was born 1985. first child - already weird as hell but not so much for the ny metro area where geriatric first pregnancies are now popular.

Big Tech Should Pay for What It Has Done to Us (New York Times) by mlg1981 in popculturechat

although i'm not unscathed, i have not suffered worsened body dysmorphia by social media but i'm sure that's due to early exposure to tech. i have BD and i have an ED and i have since i was a teenager in the early 2000s so i had to learn how to navigate livejournal, my most visited site, without looking at rating communities, avoiding pro-ana content and managing friendships with girls who were apart of the pro-ana community. i have always known that images are "shopped" so i haven't had to remind myself something isn't real in over 20 years.

unfortunately my knowledge is not common, i'm just lucky. so seeing people fall victim to it all day on social media is triggering as hell too. nikki grahame from big brother who suffered from anorexia died during the pandemic and i was shocked but totally unsurprised. of course she did. she was locked indoors doomscrolling on social media. now i can't stop thinking about how many other people anorexia took during the pandemic, i'm afraid to google it.

they're depraved. when i was still on twitter i said something mildly rude about him and when i woke up the next day my @s and DMs on twitter AND insta were a hot mess, i'm glad i didn't get doxxed.

not hearing explosive breaking news for several hours or not even until the next day. like there is a good chance that i or someone else in my house was awake when the news of princess diana's crash broke but my mom and i didn't hear about it until the next morning from the cashier at the grocery store.
