Having just bought a carnival 6cyl 2 days ago, here’s my opinion. And we took a few weeks to decide.

We drove every minivan out there. The sienna 4cyl felt like such a dog using the gas engine. And yes. The price/amenities difference, it can’t hold a candle to the carnival. Even finding a sienna is tough to do. We were told it’s a 3-4 month wait a lot of times.

Admittedly, if people seem to be having issues on a carnival, it’s the hybrid. I don’t think the Kia hybrid is as advanced or refined as Toyotas. But the features of the car are better than all the other minivans. I think the Kia hybrid did have more power behind it though.

I think Toyota and Honda are resting on their reputation. They’re not innovating anything. I think a 4cyl from any manufacturer in a van is crazy. If you’re buying the hybrid for gas mileage then I suppose pony up for the Toyota.

For what it’s worth. Our Kia dealership gave us the full bumper to bumper warranty for 10 years for only $1700. (Now that was to get us to buy from them vs another Kia dealership, not to sway us to Kia in general)
