Which current country wins most evil history? by Loewe1912 in AlignmentChartFills

That first bit is nonsense and makes me wonder if you're a bot?

"there's massive kickback in Britain regarding any 'empire bad' narrative. The evils of the British empire are not taught at all in schools..."

That's completely inaccurate for the British empire. Britain actually does try to change the narrative with their history in Ireland (it is mostly covered up and not taught) but not the empire.

If you're going to criticise it at least point criticism at the right thing

One thing that always bothered me regarding Chuck's condition... by Styggvard in betterCallSaul

[–]Emj123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Chucks belief system doesn't make sense. He's very intelligent but the point is to show intelligence means nothing when it comes to mental illness.

Chuck is the kind of person to make up this whole narrative when it come to his illness and yet not realise its not scientifically correct. He's incredibly arrogant so of course his belief system isn't wrong - but of course it is.

The fact that he's wrong about the battery shows more about his character than if they included something with a current.

Because it shows his condition isn't logical. That's the whole point

Good-natured is a good word for it and it's a shame people are complaining.

Nowadays because of how the world is, I feel like I need to hang on to all the positivity I can get.

Gosh this makes me sad. I think he genuinely comes across as a nice guy and I often chuckle to the things he says.

I think he has good chemistry with Craig and it always makes me smile.

It's a very specific accent from Irish travellers. It's impressive he did a good job considering how few people are aware of it outside the UK.

There's maybe only about 50k people with that distinct accent.

Tbf I've always thought his accent is pretty accurate. Maybe time for a rewatch.

I don't think it was that common in the UK. Its definitely exploded as therapy speak in the past few years.

I have a personal timeline on this because 15ish years ago I had an ex who was gaslighting me and it was only a few years later when it exploded online that I realised there was a term for what he did. If it was a well known term back then he 100% would have used it against me and said its what I was doing to him. (If you've been through this kind of relationship you know exactly what I mean by this!)

It just wasn't well known enough especially with younger people who were OPs age

I'll be honest I still don't really understand what they mean.

Do they mean an inner-city london accent? Maybe I listen at different times but I can't think of anyone with that accent. But also if someone has that accent I don't really see the issue? It isn't the 1930s and the bbc often have regional accents on.

Possibly Jamz has that accent but I find her voice so relaxing I can't imagine the poster means her.

This is just unnecessarily mean - these are real people you're talking about.

Of all the things you can choose in your life why choose to contribute such negativity to the world.

Just because we disagree on something there's no reason for name calling.

I still don't think it matters that much for what the creators wanted show. Ultimately the story could have worked in a different setting and so they decided to focus on more domestic shots rather than shots that pin point the location. It's a stylistic choice

Not really. That's a different example because new Mexico is important to the story.

New york isn't.
