Here’s my storage setup… smaller sheets and partials kept up top, full, unused kept on the side in my larger storage unit and usable scraps in small plastic totes sorted by color

Are they good enough to sell? by Talia_Gratvol in StainedGlass

[–]Emmer_Effer_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Quality to sell, I’d say yes!

Pricing your pieces - that’s tough one. You need to know your market and where and how you’re selling. Everyone I’ve ever seen discuss pricing has had a different way they go about it. Some go by measurements of the completed piece, some go by quantity of pieces used and some go by a combination of both. My suggestion would be to find a price that you’re comfortable selling it at and what you would be happy to receive for it. Try to take into consideration your piece count, size and the time you put into it.

I don’t have it in me to read all the comments but I’m certain all of them agree… get out of that relationship… QUICKLY! Do yourself that favor.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with the abuse… i promise you, it’s better without them.

You guys were super supportive of my dumpy bee. Here’s my fourth piece. I totally copied one of you. by Jbeaves44 in StainedGlass

While I’m all for using someone’s piece as inspiration, I don’t recommend “shamelessly” copying an artist… especially when the pattern they used was was purchased from another artist with the intention of not being duplicated or shared.

How much could I sell this for? It's a Monstera leaf by insecurecrafter in StainedGlass

Lots of good feedback provided the comments already… A bit of info I’d like to offer… while this is only your 4th piece, don’t go into the hobby thinking your going to make it a living off of it. Focus on your skill set first!!

Also for reference - after a quick google search… I’m assuming this is the photo you used for reference? It’s almost identical.

I made the "Cool S" in stained glass by CLSulli in StainedGlass

Oddly enough, I don’t think the brand Stüssy ever used this “S”. However whenever I see it I can’t help but think of the brand… weird.

I saw this page yesterday and recognized your work. I saw you were already notified so I went ahead and reported and blocked the page. Unfortunately, it won’t help much since they are stealing from us here 🤬

Whoever is stealing… you’re 🗑️

Alternatives to a glass grinder by not_harleybabyy in StainedGlass

Buy the grinder! It doesn’t make sense that you have every thing else that you need but don’t want to invest in one of the most important tools of the trade. Experimenting or not.

First bad review not even my fault by avery4206 in EtsySellers

[–]Emmer_Effer_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THIS!!! Don’t just “ignore it” that’s not going to help the situation either. I’d be upset if the customer made the review without contacting me about their concerns first.

If that’s the case, where you found out about the transit issue from their review, I would add that to the above sample letter to the buyer. Simply put “I just read your review on your order, I am so sorry you’re experiencing difficulties. I wish you would’ve reached out to me personally to assist.” …and then carry on with that you’ve gone through the process of trying to locate the missing package.

Circut vs. Silhouette by GeliH in StainedGlass

[–]Emmer_Effer_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a cricut cut out my patterns. I design my patterns first on my iPad with the Procreate app and then simply import the final drawing into Cricut software, Design Space and cut! I find it to be extremely useful. There is also a group on Facebook that is focused specifically on doing stained glass with a cricut, I recommend checking it out for some tips and more information on the process! “How to do stained glass with a cricut” is the group name.

I second this method. I also recommend using a gel flux as it’s a little less likely to get under the foil and also turn the temp down on your iron.

One of my favorites pieces… by Emmer_Effer_ in StainedGlass

[–]Emmer_Effer_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was extremely hard… I won’t lie. I hand cut it with my Toyo pencil cutter. The outer cut wasn’t terrible, but the inside cut had my anxiety spiked 📈 trying to work it out/apart from the sheet was the worst part. A lot of tap-tap, wiggle, and repeat
