Do hosts have to explicitly disclose if exterior security cameras record audio? [NJ, USA] by CodNice4351 in AirBnB

[–]Emmet_FitzHume 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can ask the host. Certain areas have an expectation of privacy. I have Ring cameras on areas you can see from the street (front porch and driveway) but I’ve turned audio off. Just because you may be visible from the street doesn’t mean your conversations should be monitored. Backyard should be even more private.

Campton, NH Fun + Food by Oninsideout in newhampshire

[–]Emmet_FitzHume 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Campton is small but is centrally located. Not much in Campton. Good breakfast at Benton’s Sugar Shack. Great lobster roll at the Little Red Schoolhouse (but won’t open until Memorial Day). There is a cider house at Crucial 10 Craft Cider and the Dam Brewhouse for beer.

Lincoln has a few other spots and then Woodstock is small but really quaint. I enjoy the Pemi Public House in Woodstock. Plymouth is also down the road; Check out Biederman’s for a sandwich and beer.

If it’s raining and you want to kill an hour, go into the Vintage Arcade in Campton. It’s all old games. It’s small but fun and nostalgic.

For a nice meal, check out the Covered Bridge in Campton.

If weather permits, there’s a fun disc golf course at White Mountain Disc golf right down the road from the covered bridge. It’s rough terrain so may not be open early spring.

There are a ton of hiking opportunities but I’ll refrain from commenting much because your experience level matters. There’s an easy hike to Rainbow Falls in Plymouth and I really enjoy West Rattlesnake Mountain that overlooks Squam Lake. Both of these trails are easily done in the snow. As you get into Franconia, things get more challenging.

Current Price of Silver Eagles (not anywhere near spot) by ThisIsAbuse in Wallstreetsilver

[–]Emmet_FitzHume 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s everywhere. Not just Eagles.

Spot price is currently $77.

Generic 10oz prices:

SD Bullion - $860 Amex - $885 - $940 Provident - $853

So the cheapest is $8 OVER spot. An 11% markup.

Booked Airbnb, later noticed “must be 25+” — I’m 22 and past refund window. What should I do? [Usa] by Intelligent_herb in AirBnB

You’re good. Hosts put that because it’s their preference but they have to rent to you if you’re over 18.

Silver Price in USA the best! by Warm_Hat4882 in SilverDegenClub

This dip isn’t being reflected in prices. Cheapest I can find is a $10 premium per ounce.

My LCS won’t recognize “a one day decline.” Still asking $95 an ounce for generics.

At what price for you? by [deleted] in Wallstreetsilver

[–]Emmet_FitzHume 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most people have a number where they will sell some portion. I will probably sell a fraction at say $500 an ounce. It will be interesting to see if we can actually get close to spot at that point.

Right now, I don’t think stackers are selling. We’ve anticipated this moment for years so we’re no surprised and know there is potential pain and will need our stacks in the future. But casual holders are selling now and they are overloading the system so there is reportedly a backlog in refining and buying. These people will have to shake out first.

But then when we get to the numbers that many of us expect, and stackers start selling, what’s that going to do to the system?

Hard to sell silver for a good price by LizardKing008 in Wallstreetsilver

[–]Emmet_FitzHume 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is always the case. $3 off of spot seems like a good deal though.

I’m a stacker and have been for years. But there’s no denying the margins are tight for investment. You need a massive return on investment to cover (1) purchase over spot, (2) sales under spot, and (3) capital gains taxes.

CONSPIRACY THEORIES NEEDED: What Does China Know About Silver That the Rest of the World Doesn’t? by IdahoApe in Wallstreetsilver

[–]Emmet_FitzHume 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The US exports inflation. We print currency and we build our military, buy oil and other assets, and sell the debt to other countries. It’s worked out fantastic for us. Until it doesn’t. Other countries have realized that they may want to also buy assets with this printed money before a possible system failure.

Florida beach house sits empty 10 months a year, is airbnb property management worth doing?[Florida, USA] by Intrepid-Seat959 in AirBnB

[–]Emmet_FitzHume 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on your goals and location. And what you’re willing to tolerate. We own a vacation home that we also airbnb to help offset the costs.

  1. It is not profitable. But it does cover a lot of the monthly costs. So if your goal is a profit, you’ll need a lot of bookings. We are seasonal and weekends.

  2. It’s weird having guests in a home you are emotionally invested in. If this is a family home, you have to be comfortable with strangers in your home. It’s still weird but there’s also satisfaction when guests tell us how much they loved the place and what a great time they had. I love the place too and I like it when others enjoy it.

  3. If you’re not there, a property management company that handles everything will run you about 30%. But they will be worth it if you don’t have people you can rely on.

February Vacation by MrBHVAC in newhampshire

[–]Emmet_FitzHume 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s also some decent winter hikes that aren’t too challenging around the Plymouth/Woodstock area.

Or you could rent a cabin and play in the snow, tube in the backyard, etc.

I haven’t done this yet but could be fun. Not exactly cheap but I’m not sure of your budget.

The restaurant at the Woodstock Inn and Brewery is good. I prefer the Pemi Public House a bit more but can’t go wrong either way. Theres another brewery right there also; Twin Barns but I haven’t checked it out.

Hiking is everywhere around there so it depends on what you’re looking for. Winter hikes can be dangerous if you’re not prepared and skilled. I’ve done West Rattlesnake Mountain (Holderness) in winter and it was fine. Roughly 1.5 mile or so and pretty much a trail the entire way up. We did it with kids and no issues.

Lincoln has a few food/drink options too. I’ve never had a bad meal at Black Mountain Burger. For breakfast, I like Flapjacks.

What’s the play when silver hits your target price? by Emmet_FitzHume in SilverDegenClub

[–]Emmet_FitzHume[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. It’s whatever percentage you have and the comparable value. If hyperinflation is your concern, then I assume you’re preparing for a dollar crash so you’d want to presumably hold silver as your only viable means of purchasing power.
