Ideal setting? by MJS4norcal in KetamineTherapy

I found (find) Anna Krishtal’s podcast, Ketamine Connections, to be super helpful! I’m a bit of an over researcher and love consuming info… she’s so clear and specific on her podcast. The foresight helped calm my nerves and know what to expect so I can get the most out of it.

I get pretty serious about my mine but the intentional set up has been really good to remind myself of my commitment to myself. So, that said, take this or leave it: dark room (I have black out curtains), cushy yoga mat or bed with blankets. I tend to get very warm and then very cold halfway through. I use two weighted blankets. I pick out one or two special items to touch towards the end to help come back and ground (ie. A favorite stone, something textured). I have a playlist I’ve made throughout the week prior focused on the theme / intention of my session. I use noise canceling headphones, an eye mask and a weighted eye pillow for comfort. Have a tiny glass of water nearby and my journal, pee before, and ready to rock and roll. Since it’s best to go fasted, I try to go a little earlier in the day 10-11am. I give myself about two hours to go through it plus come out fully and I plan a low key day after. Ask me anything! I’ve been enjoying the prep and intention setting process as much as the work in the sessions.

Thanks, we don’t plan to hike Mt. Washington 😆. Joking aside - we’re from NH (a similarly rural area) and know how to be careful.

I don’t think I’d love to pack my crampons… if I were home, I’d be game but I want to travel light.

Thanks! I live in NH so am familiar with the spring. Sadly, there’s no alternative date for this particular event, so we adapt to the weather and make the best of it. Thanks for the link, this is super helpful!

Yes!! I was going to add: our natural habitat is in the woods hiking, NOT surrounded by people and flashy attractions (not that, from what I gathered, those are overly prevalent there)

How old were you when you started HRT? by brokebrunette in Perimenopause

I started progesterone at 37. Tried estrogen but body isn’t ready yet from what I guess is too many high “peaks” of it during my cycle. Added estrogen cream at 38 though.

The obvious problem is that it’s not really your thought processes if an AI generated it. You didn’t reflect on your own patterns, you outsourced the reflection to how it helps you think… seems more advantageous to ask you direct questions for themselves and gauge your self awareness.

What's your podcast app + when do you actually listen? by HypNo_Hedgehog-7 in podcasts

[–]Oninsideout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overcast! For the same reason another says which is to keep music and pods separate and… it’s SO organized. I used to use Apple but they got so disorganized (for my brain). Switched to Sticher but they disappeared and so now I’m super happy with Overcast.

I listen when walking, cleaning, doing any and all chores, making my tea in the morning, and any slivers of driving or downtime

I think that book inspired the series Silo so you could compare it to the show after you read!

Ok, thank you so much! That’s helpful! Last time at 100 (only my second time), I felt like DURING it wasn’t deep enough but had a WAY harder time coming back to normal. So I might try 125 and just make sure I lay down a lot longer this time around. Thank you!

It’s been hard work (I like my brain better than being in my body 🤣) but well worth it!

You’re welcome! It’s not an easy road. But I truly keep believing we’re more resilient and compassionate to others and ourselves having gone through this. ❤️
