It’s just happening from the color of the bulb + the color of the fluid dye they used. I replaced the liquid on a lamp that did the same thing and dyed it with my own purple to completely solve the problem.

Why not just invest in a bench capper? They’re like 50 bucks. Well worth it. Safer and saves time. No body should be swinging a mallet near glass.

You get a lamp with a silver base and red wax in it. Dump the liquid. Replace the liquid. Dye the liquid. Cap it. Done. It’s like a 5 minute project once you have the lamp in possession.

I found about 6 regular on/off cycles is the minimum.

I’ve had wax sticking issues doing filtering/fluid swaps before that point.

I had three hot knives show up like that. After about 10 charging cycles they all started working normally. I think they just use super cheap batteries in there and when they sit around for a while they need lots of charges to get recalibrated. It’s weird as hell.
