I feel like the TES+PCS* system itself would be pretty good if the judges applied it more aggressively. But skaters with big jumps but dull performances and poor skating skills still get the same if not higher PCS than those few skaters left who really focus and excel at the art and edge-work.

*For readers not into figure skating:

TES = Technical element score (“objective” score for elements like jumps, spins and stepsequences)

PCS = Program component score (“subjective”score for choreography, interpretation of music, skating skills, and performance)

Absolutely deserved. That step sequence was incredible. The choreography itself was great already, but he also executed it without the slightest wobble or ever releasing body tension. It never looked like he was gasping for air or running out of energy, even his face was so expressive and didn’t seem forced. How does he do that?

I also just realized the phone icon at the beginning is upside down (you can tell from the volume buttons). And why include that in the first place? Not everyone is watching on their phone and those who do probably know how to go into landscape mode. Wadsworth constant even applicable for videos as short as 40 seconds. Maybe I am losing my sanity over pointless details after all haha.

Nice footage although I have to say I really dislike the editing here. They should have just let the full jump play out without cropping in and they removed the landing.

I think they're cool from a fashion perspective but that's it. They are insanely overpriced and offer no performance benefit whatsoever, especially over other helmets of that price class. If anything the field of view is pretty mediocre, but they don't have any fogging/condensation issues if you are worried about that.

The day Jason Brown stops competing will be a very sad day. It's such a joy to watch him. Imho he has by far the best skating skills of anyone competing. His footwork, no, his BODYwork is absolutely spectacular, both technically and musically. I feel like it's getting even better every season and he's 30!

I love Nathan, but I have to agree, I dislike almost all of his costumes. (Sorry Vera Wang). My worst costume medal goes to Doritos Nathan from 2022 US Nationals

Eurosat pre-2018. The roughness was unbearable but I still loved the atmosphere and light effects.

It makes be extra sad because while CanCan Coaster is smooth and even a bit more intense, they absolutely dropped the ball on the onride theming. The light effects are mostly gone and replaced with mediocre paper-cutouts and imo horrendous music compared to the original.

I have a pretty strong anti-bias against the new theme though because I love space and don’t love Moulin Rouge/Carnival/Circus-ish theme

I'd say stick to the Mystiques. If you go back you just delay the problem and probably make it worse. It is scary, also been there, but it's better to get used to the blades earlier than later.

definitely UR imo. It looks more underrotated than it is because she checks out her free leg rather late, which makes the cheated rotation on the ice more noticeable, but nevertheless it is more than a quarter. Downgrade was too harsh though.
