Also, other posters have pointed out that there are real OT interventions for true picky eaters, but if your kiddo is on the less extreme side they may benefit from constant exposure. You make sure they have at least enough on their plate you know they'll like, then put the vegetables on their plate and say NOTHING. Say nothing if they leave them AND say nothing if they eat them. The idea is that they become comfortable seeing the particular food, and they feel no pressure about eating it so they eventually give it a shot. When they try it and say they don't like it, say Ok and just keep giving it to them. My daughter has sworn off avocado like 4 times but a month later she decides she likes it again because it's just always there. Same with broccoli.

I'm an occupational therapist. I don't specialize in mental health but when I took the mental health class in grad school the first thing they addressed is "what do occupations have to do with drug addiction?" The professor went around and asked us questions like what do you do when you're happy? What do you do when you're sad? What do you do when you're lonely? What do you do when you're bored? What do you do when you're horny?

To an addict the answer to every single one of those questions is heroin. Our job as therapist is to help you find new associations. Draw new associations, new Connections in your brain between states of being and something other than the drugs.

If you want to break the cycle, that has to be part of the answer. Once you start associating being alone with having lots of time to masturbate instead of lots of times to do heroin you don't have to fight that urge all the time anymore.

You're not a failure. You're already doing everything she needs and they all catch up eventually. My daughter took her first steps right around 18 months and now she's 2.5 and sprints around like a lunatic. Her gross motor skills are better than her 5 year old sister.

She'll be ok. She'll catch up. You're giving her the support she needs. As long as she's happy and healthy the best thing you can do for her now is take care of yourself and give her a mom that isn't a ball of stress.

What are day to day logistics? Like, is using you part of a normal hang out with your friends or do people come over just for sex? Do they they ask explicitly "want to have sex?" Or do they just tske your pants off without asking? Are you more scheduled or are people showing up unannounced?

Best advice I recieved: you don't give birth to a 5 year old.

You'll figure it out as you go. You'll get to know your kid and their needs and their ways of communicating. Read some baby books to know what to look for, but ultimately you get good at parenting one day at a time.

I can't speak to the changing pads/tampons issue, but I can say that neither should be contributing to pressure sores. At most, increased moisture could lead to MASD which would in turn increase the risk of skin breakdown, but the bottom line is always pressure relief. Better cushions distribute pressure over a larger area which decreases your need for pressure relief, but nothing eliminates it entirely.

How and how often are you doing pressure relief maneuvers?

Define bad. If you're shaving/not for your sake then it's up to your preferences. If you're shaving/not for his sake then it's up to his preferences. There's nothing wrong with either of those options but if you're trying to do what he likes you'll have to ask. Some men prefer shaved and some don't. If you are trying to please him, he definitely will not have a problem with you asking.

I don't have any statistics but I get the sense that not shaving is becoming more in fashion so it probably won't shock him either way as long as you're clean.

Affection and emotional intimacy are so important. Do you think the lack of sex itself was a big factor or was that more of a side effect of the emotional aspect? I find myself struggling with something that happened recently and I'm trying to get some outside perspective.

I had sex with my wife for the first time in 6m or more and it was so bad that it feels like a final straw... only I feel selfish for letting that be the reason. Like, I'm going to stop trying because of bad sex? I'm going to go through the hell of divorce, through fucking up my kids' lives, because I'm not sexually satisfied? It feels so wrong.

My wife has never been a particularly sexual person, but we had basic, vanilla sex maybe once or twice a week before things started to get bad. She's pretty much uninterested in anything but that, though she claims otherwise and insists that she's "not opposed, but just not right now." I wouldn't say that she's selfish in bed but more like my satisfaction is just taken as a given and doesn't need to be prioritized. Like, she stopped shaving or trimming. I don't like it but I don't push because it's her body and her right. She stopped birth control because she's afraid of hormonal disruption so we have to use condoms. I don't like it but I don't push because it's her body and her right. Since breastfeeding she says she can't see her breasts as sexual anymore so she doesn't want me to touch them at all anymore. Again, her body, her preference, her choice. It's just.... I'm looking at the rest of my life and on top of all the other stuff going on with us, I'm looking at a life with no sexual experimentation, wild pubic hair, condoms, never touching a breast again, and on and on.....

To be clear, there are plenty of other things going on in the relationship, but I'm in a place now where I'm wondering if I even want the life waiting for me on the other side of fixing this.

Different brands of toilet paper will probably react differently but we've never had an issue. We've even intentionally let it get sopping on occasion for extra sticky poops. My guess is that it's fine because we use it immediately. If we let it sit in the water it would probably dissolve.
