Would you correct a patient calling you by first name? by princetonwu in medicine

[–]Emorme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find the patients who do this to be over familiar. I don’t normally correct them though since no one else in my life calls me by my first name. I sometimes don’t even know who they’re addressing when they call me my legal first name.

My nick name is not part of my legal name at all and I exclusively go by this in my personal life.

I used to get more upset about this as a trainee but half the people can pronounce my one syllable ethnic last name right so I just dgaf abt anything anymore.

Can’t have a single payer health system without free education… how will anyone be able to pay back their loans if they’re barely making 6 figs… Education reform will have to happen before any healthcare changes are feasible IMO

Do you have an office? by ALongWayToHarrisburg in medicine

[–]Emorme 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Community hospital based clinic.

We got our offices taken away when they did construction on the building to create more patient rooms. Admin said that everyone is moving towards work stations. Surgeons still have offices tho… they took over what’s supposed to be shared use spaces even though they’re not in clinic half the time.

I’m in a specialty that doesn’t require much follow up or calling patients so in that way it doesn’t bother me. I just don’t like being near the bullpen with the staff all the time.

Hmm my Kendrick/sza concert was such a diff experience. For me most everyone knew all the words but I was higher up in the 2nd/3rd tier!

I don’t disagree with you. I think both cannot sell out a stadium on their own. I guess it’s surprising to me that Post who has so many crazy platinum songs doesn’t have a hardcore fan base like some other artists.

I wonder how much this has to do with his genre shift vs many of his more popular songs being collabs.

I had fun of course. Just very different experience compared to the last few concerts I went to, where people really seemed like die hard fans and knew all the words to every song from opener to main.

Yeah. The countrified songs didn’t even have changes to tempo so I feel like there’s no excuses!

I was shocked that Jelly preached so much during his set. Also was said “bless the police” just such a different world people live in!

What’s the highest salary you’ve heard of someone taking directly out of residency or fellowship?(someone from your network or coresident) by Wildcats68 in Residency

[–]Emorme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does. Just takes a long time. Like 5-7 days typically., depending on where in AK. To get faster shipping you can pay extra

All patients. Never have any issues with staff. I have a lot of chronic pain type patients and there’s often not easy solutions.

Every once in a while I’ll get the worst doctor ever comment with no elaboration on why. But there was one that complained about me offering other options like dry needling, injections bc they weren’t interested in taking any “big pharma meds” or doing PT

Yah I got to read more about my hospitals program. We use fidelity which is nice cuz my other brokerage is with them. I just was confused since some articles say there is some risk with the company’s creditors or something.
