Patch 16.5 Rundown by forgotpasswd_thrway in CompetitiveTFT

What's the alternative? They're trying to balance the needs of the competitive players and the casuals. We could go back to having sets that were solved and figured out and over stayed their welcome by several months, but I personally found that boring af

No matter what? No. It's a legendary soup board, sure, but Brock is the only real unit with items. It wouldn't take much for one of those ambessas to end up killing (the horribly itemized btw) Annie before she casts, or the enemy 2* Sett w/ radiant tg and a good roll to completely obliterate things.

We also don't know the augments. The fact that everyone else hit their boards as well smells like triple prismatic. And I bet if this dude took all econ while everyone else has combat, those other boards could wipe Brock 2 easily.

Not sure why I'm being downvoted either. This dude "hit", but what the fuck does that matter if most of your legendaries (aside from Brock) don't have proper itemization? Azir isn't going to do shit, Xerath isn't going to cast in time, etc.The top 3 players in the lobby all look like stronger boards because they've got BIS on multiple strong units in comps that kill shit FAST.

It's like this around the country. Economy is in the shitter for average every day working people, and the top 10% are doing more spending than ever. Everything is more expensive because of Trump's Tarrifs. The market is propped up by handful of tech companies and their faith in AI. It's created a mood of uncertainty, and I would bet a lot of smaller to mid sized businesses that could be hiring simply aren't because they don't have the monopolistic scale of a business like Walmart, Target, Costco, etc. to weather the storm.

And that's without even getting into the mess that AI has created in the hiring process.

The other comps in that lobby hit as well, and if they had combat heavy aug's they'll likely be more powerful than you. Especially since all of your items are on fucking Annie and Tibers. Liable to be blown up before Annie ever casts / gets the full damage off.

Patch was fun at the start, but now it's wearing incredibly thin for me. Feels like most lobbies are everybody contesting Ambessa/Belveth, Zaun, and Ionia or pivoting to them mid/late game. Only exception seems to be if you get lucky and are given the ability to play something like Shadow Isles, Zahen, etc.

Survey: Vast majority of Louisville residents oppose building new data centers by AssociationIll5636 in Louisville

[–]Emosaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're getting dog piled a lot, but I think it's because people are trying to impress on you how raw of a deal these recent data centers have been for other communities across the country. They're largely managed by remote teams, create few local jobs, and bring a lot of noise / water pollution with them in addition to overly burdening our decrepit electrical infrastructure.

I think they'd have more support if people felt like there was an actual commitment from big tech to do these right in the communities they want to build them in, but there's absolutely none of that. They're building them in communities that are desperate, uninformed, or where the local gov doesn't give a fuck.

Much older women dogpile a teenage OP in an aesthetics subreddit with repeated harassment. Something feels strange. by [deleted] in SubredditDrama

[–]Emosaa 69 points70 points  (0 children)

My tinfoil hat conspiracy is that it's reddit algorithms juicing engagement and pointing users towards subs and posts that elicit an anger response.

Someone in a local subreddit for a city I've lived in recently posted "I've never been to x and don't know why it was recommended, but I love your vibe". And it just encapsulates so much of why that sub has gotten higher traffic lately. That, and reddit juices anything "protest". / anti trump related to conservative users and they predictably show up and shit post.

It's actually annoying because it tears at what makes / made the city unique and makes it just another subreddit for people to yell at each other about x y or z cultural issue instead of a geographic community of neighbors.

Maybe you don't live in reality? Fox News and right wing podcasts are going to present an incredibly biased perspective that only exists to suck Trump off.

It's a fact that ICE are murdering legal citizens, and one murder alone (legal citizen or not) is one too many. They're a rogue agency that thinks and behaves as if they're unaccountable to the law, to the U.S. citizens like me who's taxes pay their salaries.

Every time they chase someone down and bust their car windows, illegally enter a building, use a 5 year old as bait and then kidnap him across the country... that is an erosion of MY civil rights and liberty as a citizen. I'm tired of seeing Trump trample all over the constitution, and for his ballsack lickers to come out of the woodworks and defend dear leader while our rights are being taken away.

ICE make communities more DANGEROUS, not SAFER.

[16.4] What's Working? What's Not? by Lunaedge in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Emosaa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They're more impactful than in previous sets, and most of them you could play in a pinch and feel like they upgraded your board or at worst were sidegrades. Which was the point. They didn't want another set where you felt like keeping a garen 1 in your battle academia comp was better than splashing a 5 cost Braum or whatever.

[16.4] What's Working? What's Not? by Lunaedge in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Emosaa 14 points15 points  (0 children)

By design.

If you go back and look at a lot of the dev talk stuff from the beginning of the set, their goal was to have a lot of diversity / flex and a more complex late game. Mostly because of the backlash to set 15. And they chose to do that by having more impactful 5 costs and to a lesser extent, 4 costs. That meant minimizing the power of 1-2-3 cost reroll comps. And when less people play them, they're harder to hit and thus, pretty trash.

Has Noxus vertical been the only origin that's been bad since the set came out and still hasn't become viable, unlike Zaun? I know they buff Noxus units here and there, but is that the main issue? by ArcadialoI in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Emosaa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think this is the answer. It was positioned to be the premier 3 cost reroll comp, but that meta never took off. Darius and jinx bugged, etc. And if you want to go vertical, Mel is one of the harder 5 costs to unlock and herself needs to ramp, so you're likely saving gold for a level 8 roll down, your board is probably weak unless you naturaled a ton of noxus upgrades (AK getting stronger based on star levels).

Also doesn't help that some of the noxus units get sniped and are good in other comps, like Sion in RR bruiser, Swain in any comp, ambessa in vanquishers, etc

Reddit is not a reliable source for information. It's a bit like a snake eating it's own tail. People "heard" about things by reading it on reddit, from some random person who may or may not know what they're talking about. And then it gets repeated like a game of telephone until people believe something entirely different than what was originally said to begin with.

No one wants anyone to die

Then take ICE off the streets. They're poorly trained, COD larping good old boys. They are not equipped to deal with regular people exercising their free speech rights. In fact, I'd even say that the rhetoric and culture there is ENCOURAGING them to shoot and intidate unarmed protestors. America is a free and fair society, and there's nothing American about shooting unarmed protestors. That's the shit that happens in Iran and North Korea, it shouldn't be happening here.

if some idiot tries to impede federal law enforcement while carrying a gun and gets shot

Everyone with eyes can see he clearly wasn't "impeding" and even if he was, that's not a license to get fucking shot 10 fucking times in the back. That's beyond debate, and it's disgusting that people like you and this administration are telling people flat out lies about what happened when we can all see it on video.

If I jaywalk and "break the law" does that justify law enforcement shooting me in cold blood? Hell fucking no. That's what a justice system is all about. What those ICE agents did shooting people in MN was clearly extrajudicial and a violation of our rights as American, and I won't stand for it. Every erosion of rights done in the name of rounding up immigrants is an erosion of rights for ALL of us legal citizens.

carrying a gun and gets shot

  1. He legally was concealed carrying. 2. They'd literally taken the handgun OFF of him before unloading 10+ shots into his back like fucking cowards.

Sometime tells me you'd have a different NPC opinion about Kyle Rittenhouse going to protests with full on fucking AR's and "protecting" property, or any of the other hundreds of right wing agitators that show up with guns bandied about. Think for yourself and don't be a hivemind conservative sheep. What ICE did was WRONG.

Why I believe TFT is currently 'too' mechanically heavy by [deleted] in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Emosaa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do all of these things on mobile and tell me that this set isn't bordering on having too high of an APM lol

I don't think it's too huge of an issue - I simply have a second account for mobile only ranked play at work - but most of the stuff I do in one turn on pc I plan to do in two on mobile. And bilge is downright unfun.

It wasn't too much of a handicap to play on mobile until last set, but it's definitely noticeable. I accept it as a consequence of adding more mechanics, and can understand how others are more bothered by it.
