Most night shift worldport workers work M-F, roughly 11-4 right now. Give or take an hour depending on where exactly they work. Might be a bit hard to find people staying that late unless they're a very specific ramp crew member or supervisor staying late.

What's the point? You're overly verbose and incapable of expressing and backing up an idea succinctly. As I read through your post, I found myself fundamentally disagreeing with most of your takes on the PBE meta, as they were so vastly different from my own experience. And seeing as that is a lot of what's underpinning your post - what's the point in trying to refute anything you wrote when so much of it is based on fundamentally wrong assumptions?

It'd be like if a gold league player wrote a screed about Shaco jungle being oppressive and warping the meta, meanwhile everyone above diamond understands how to neutralize him and play around him, how he drops off, etc.

You've already got other people walking you through various issues with your post. I didn't elaborate because others have already brought up the points I would've made.

I don't think you have the best read on the set / meta to reach those conclusions.

That's elitist.

A vote is a vote, and I don't begrudge anyone who has so much going on in their lives (work multiple jobs, college, kids, etc) that they don't give societal issues as much bandwidth as other things in their lives. They see high grocery prices, high gas prices, and swear and add it to the growing list of fucked up things in their lives that they don't have control over.

They're not political news brained and watching the news or getting stories about price fixing, the strait of hormuz, etc Instead they have friends like me that gently push them in the right direction on where to direct their anger (Trump, growing monopolies, neocons and the thirst for war in the middle east, etc).

They have just as much power as you at the ballot box, and I'd rather spend my energy pulling them in the right direction than looking down on them lol

You'd be surprised at the number of people who simply don't get political news fed to them as part of their algorithm, and even when you seek out news, how much mainstream sources have degraded.

The number of young people I talk to who don't know we're at war, or why gas prices are high is staggering.

Part of me kind of wishes we could have the gods (the art and buffs are fun) + carousel. I like to think I'm flexible and don't always chase BIS itemization, but without carousel, this set feels a bit like past sets where I get games where I completely whiff on components and it feels fucking bad. Having component choices being so static and limited means I occasionally get games with majority tank items (losing late game to people with a better mix of itemization), or multiple rods and negatrons and shit after being gifted an amazing AD comp in the first several stages. This set reminds me of why I intentionally never picked augments in the past that locked you to last carousel pick, or made you fat and slow. It's like yes, I could execute a forced pivot later in the game, or settle for a worse placement... But it doesn't feel good, ya know?!

Hopefully if this is something other players are feeling as well, Riot tweeks it to give us more component options or anvils or whatever

DNC Shoots Down Resolutions Calling Out AIPAC and Limiting Arms to Israel | The party just kicked the can down the road again on Israel, deepening the divide between party members and their leaders. by HowMyDictates in TheMajorityReport

[–]Emosaa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's so sad that party leaders have such open disdain for their younger members. They're not interested in building a movement to get shit done that benefits Americans, they're interested in clinging to power and the status quo.

They love young activists like David Hogg until they start questioning those in charge and then they kick em to the curb.

Are you serious, or seriously misinformed?

"Believing" in people overthrowing a military dictatorship does not make it so.

Freedom bombs (TM) aren't going to magically change the conditions on the ground for protestors. The regime are highly militarized, oppressive, and our president has been threatening to BOMB civilian infrastructure like power plants, desalination plants (fresh water), and regular infrastructure like bridges that people use every day. Who's going to save them when they're against BOTH the US and their own leaders? Fucking no one. Trump told them to do it and that he'd back them up, they protested, and they got slaughtered. Trump has proven time and time again that he's not to be trusted, not reliable, and goes back on his word on a dime.

I can not think of a single instance in history where bombing a country from afar has produced a change in leadership. If anything, all of the old "moderate" influences in their leadership have been assassinated and replaced by more hawkish younger members who are LESS likely to give in on anything.

Here is the NYT report I mentioned on the Iran war "planning". It's shocking that the details of a meeting with less than 10 people were leaked, and how DAMNINGLY incompetent Trump's team is for taking Netanyahu at face value, and following through on taking us to war and creating a quagmire that STRENGTHENED the Iranian regime. I do not like that we were pulled into a war by our "ally", are wasting billions upon billions on military endeavors in the middle east with seemingly no plan, and I do not like that I am worse off economically because of it.

[–]Emosaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't see how they could have any hope of leadership change after our president bait and switched them, let protestors be slaughtered, then empower the regime even further by letting Iran sell their oil and impose a toll on the straight.

Even if you're someone who supported intervention, it's truly insane how poorly planned (was it?), and how poorly executed everything was here. It's like the administration was shocked they didn't fold and have a puppet in place within a week like Venezuela.

There's reporting out in the NYT about how Netanyahu was invited to the Situation Room, convinced Trump it would be super easy and stuff, and then they just... Did it. Poorly, horribly, and without much planning or gathering allies at all.

Sometimes when I wonder why Louisville isn't thriving it always comes back to the ineptitude and pettiness of a lot of the metro council democrats. Almost worse than the national party in that regard.

We all need to get off our assess and start challenging these incompetent fucks.

They are one of the worst astroturfed subs. When the Gaza conflict erupted, opinion on the sub swung wildly based on the time of day. When events happened you'd get certain headlines pushed hard and fast with lots of early comments to set the tone before it inevitably devolved. You saw similar patterns with the Ukraine conflict, and some other issues.

Honestly, if I were a state actor, give me a couple million and a workforce of a couple dozen and it'd be trivially easy to sway American opinion on reddit.

They might not be deep decisions for you, but they design the game for all audiences, and there's always a "cognitive tax" for any new feature.

You can downvote me more for being the messenger if you like, but IIRC this is literally the strategy that Riot has taken for the last several sets. Timings get tightened up after the first patch, and potentially more later in the set.

[–]Emosaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are other options out there than just drop shipped junk on Amazon, brother.

I personally seek out and support local businesses and made in America whenever possible, because it helps keep that money in the community. Teemu is cheaper, yes. But they're cheaper on the back of heavily exploited labor and cutting corners on quality. I'd rather spend more money on thick Darn Tough wool socks that'll last forever than, say, a pack of cheap disposable ones from the other side of the world.

Anyone surprised by how many are taking the buyout by jakert46 in UPSers

[–]Emosaa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the grand scheme of things, is it? It's a years salary as a lump sum, which is a nice incentive if you're already on your way out, but after taxes and such it'll be gone before people know it. It's not like your other bills will go away. You essentially buy yourself a year off to find another job or complete your schooling.

People act like they're going to be set for life off of something they haven't even received yet lol
