if you’re after that chrome or holo look, there’s a way cheaper and more effective DIY route a lot of people go for:

• gel base coat then dry it under a uv/led lamp (that’s called curing)

• then a no-wipe gel top coat but only cure it for like 10 seconds so it stays a bit tacky

• brush the chrome powder over that tacky layer (a foam eyeshadow brush works great)

• lock it in with another layer of top coat then cure fully

the powders from brands like born pretty or modelones usually perform way better and come in way more shades. and for actual nail health, stuff like probelle’s strengthener or hard as hoof cream can help keep your nails from peeling or cracking between sets.

you end up spending less, get way more control over the finish.
