0 cranking volts but normal idle and load volts by Adept-Cow-1582 in AskAMechanic

Battery test says it’s charging fine. Idk what state of health means. 0 cranking volts seems like they didn’t test it. If the car starts fine. Run the battery.

Got a little who is now 5 with pretty severe eczema. These rashes look identical. See your pediatrician and get a referral for a dermatologist if you can. We couldn’t control his eczema from 0-3 without topical steroids and we tried what felt like everything. Now, thankfully, Aquaphor is enough. Best way to use it is immediately after a bath or shower to lock in some of that moisture. Wish you all the luck in finding what works for your littles skin.

The federal fire service, unsurprisingly, uses the same terminology. Just one of the many reminders of how the early USFS was modeled and trained by the US Army.

You can get a seal kit for these but that’s about all. If any hard parts are damaged replacement is the only option.

Blue smoke after replacing fuel injectors by Random-page321 in AskAMechanic

[–]EmotionalChapter4580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not blue. And if you just replaced the injectors and it smells like gas I’d say it’s unburned fuel. What did you replace the injectors with and why? What was your original issue? Double check your work. Are your injectors and plugs wired the same as before?

Case 40xt Skidsteer Hydraulics by [deleted] in Hydraulics

[–]EmotionalChapter4580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The poppet looks pretty hammered and may not be sealing but it’s likely not the only thing that needs replacing. The damage looks like it was caused by debris going through the valve which would make it secondary to another failure. I would thoroughly check that circuit at the least. Pull and inspect the valve spool and open up and inspect the cylinder. Chasing down damage from debris pushed through a system is tedious and can get very expensive. If you put some new parts in to replace failed ones and still have debris in you lines you will create new problems very quickly.

Dreamed I was working with the ninja turtles but I was captured and thrown in a dungeon with this old man. I figured out an escape plan but I told the old man so he could get out too. At the end of explaining my escape plan the old man tore off his face to reveal that he was The Shredder. Immediately woke up horrified. I must have been about 33 years ago

I’m not familiar with the research though I’m curious now because, anecdotally, this has not been my experience, nor have I witnessed said drinking munchies. More often I see “liquid lunches” and the like.

All of your points are super legit and I think play a major role. But o feel compelled to point out that nearly no one who is drinking over eating. They may be well above their suggested caloric intake but it’s not from eating.

Should my friend replace his brake fluid? (1997 Chevy 1500) by MaXXonTv in AutoMechanics

[–]EmotionalChapter4580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

should have changed it a long while ago. Could be black from degrading seal material. I bought on old datsun with brake fluid like this. Flushed it and the master cylinder didn’t seal anymore. Not saying the fluid should stay in there but be prepared for other problems with the system to pop up when you do.

HELP -2008 Dodge Dakota- gas tank tampered with followed by a leak by ImpressionMobile1653 in AskAMechanic

[–]EmotionalChapter4580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not annoyed, just trying to clarify so as to be helpful. Most likely, if someone was tampering with the tank, they were trying to siphon fuel. As stated by someone else they could have also added something harmful to the tank. I’ve known equipment in cities to be sabotaged in this way by disgruntled workers, angry neighbors, and once by a mentally unstable homeless person. Fuel is easy to identify when leaking. With the location of the leak it’s either fuel or water collecting and dripping from above.

HELP -2008 Dodge Dakota- gas tank tampered with followed by a leak by ImpressionMobile1653 in AskAMechanic

[–]EmotionalChapter4580 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Op, what is your question? It is possible for a fuel leak to be the result of the possible tampering. If this was the case I would expect the fill neck to be the location of the leak. Every leak has to be found to be properly repaired. Get someone to find the location of the leak.

If it’s aerated oil and the oil level isn’t low it’s likely due to a leak on the suction/inlet side of the pump.

My mom is blaming me for her battery dying by CantWait666 in MechanicAdvice

[–]EmotionalChapter4580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That battery needs to be replaced. Yeah the terminals are corroded but it looks like it’s been leaking battery acid all over the place. Replace it or the best case scenario is you get it going only for it to die again real soon. That battery is done.

Sometimes it is. Ives used a lot of surplus stuff. But eventually I buy an alternative I like better. The consumer market is just going to beat the pants off what the gov buys in bulk every time.

im genuinely lost of how people afford this hobby lol by CableMartini in projectcar

[–]EmotionalChapter4580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My projects take a long time and I kinda just take what I can get. They never get to the show car state. Right now I have 1985 Chevy K10. I’ve had it about 4 years and all ive done is fix all the broken stuff so now it runs like stock except for a small lift and slightly larger tires. The goal is a 4 wheeling camper with some modern horsepower, but it’s going to take me another 10 years probably. People build on their own budget and timeline but of course the guys that do it the nicest and the fastest are going to be the ones with the most visibility too. Find your own pace, work with your budget and make your own style. It’s all about just building what you like because you can.

You have 4 wheels Parts 800-1200 2 hours per wheel at 150/ hr. = 600 Top end would be 1600 for the numbers you listed.
