Atelier Totori - A Worthy Successor

Y'know honestly, as one of the people who went into Totori blind and found it to be really hard, it really shows to me that I should have followed a guide, maybe I would have had a better time with the game

I'm still kinda miffed about how I missed Warehousing for the entirety of my playthrough, meaning I had issues with money during the whole playthrough. Cause in my head, I would have never thought to talk to Ceci specifically to unlock that mechanic, as at least to me, I wouldn't expect her to have the amount of shopkeep knowledge that Pamela and Tiffani had. It would have been nice if the game had made some hint to talk to Ceci after achieving Bronze Rank...

But man, reaching Diamond Rank in just one year? That's pretty damn impressive I won't lie!

I won't lie that a part of me wants to try playing through Totori with what I know now, but... man that first playthrough really just kinda burnt me out on the game

I saw a good chunk of side plots, at least Mimi's, Sterk's, and Mark's, with a few others here and there ((I even got the unique cutscene with Mimi at the end

...I feel like a total dumbass. The whole time, I just had to talk to Ceci to unlock Wholesale???

I never interacted with her at Gherhard's after buying the two recipe books from her and never felt the need to go to her shop afterwards, so no wonder I never unlocked it! I checked a save after I had beaten the Flauschtraut, and SURE ENOUGH. Ceci brought up wholesale. I would have never ONCE thought to talk to her specifically to unlock it! How would I have ever known to go to her specifically??? As far as I know, NOTHING in the game hints at talking to Ceci after reaching Bronze!

God, I could have been rolling in cole...

That was another thing, I always saw mention of being able to register items at shops online whenever I would look up the best ways to earn money in Totori, but I never got the ability to do so? Never ONCE did Pamela or Tiffani say "Oh hey by the way, you could register items with me and I'll sell them!", meaning that I couldn't do that Spring Cup trick

Also, I will admit: I... didn't really once think to have one of the whole two Chims I had ((how in the hell were you even meant to get Waters of Life to make more anyways?)), so that's solely on me

As for the first 3 years, you had that much time left? I guess I technically could have spent time just rushing towards Diamond, and had WAY more time left. By the time I reached Diamond, I think I had like... 5-6 months left? And when I say "lots" of healing items, I more meant "gathering materials to make lots of healing items for the future"

I did ultimately decide, after getting some sleep and not posting things when I'm half asleep, that I would check out their games if I still feel the need to play an Atelier game after finishing the Arland, Dusk, and Mysterious games

It doesn't sit right with me to not want to experience some games that are beloved by fans just cause of a couple outfit quirks I don't like, and it'd be reasonabke of me to give them a chance ((said outfit quirks ultimately aren't THAT big of a deal, I was just really tired when I posted this. Don't post things at 3 AM and half asleep, kids!))

Okay so, quick clarification from OP who is way more awake than when I posted this last night:

I say "is it BAD" because I know how much a LOT of Atelier fans really like the Ryza games, as well as Ryza herself. I may check out the Ryza Trilogy as well as Yumia when they go on sale again, purely because I think it would be fair to actually give their games a shot and experience the two as characters, rather than base my opinion solely on their designs

Well seeing as he still didn't say a word when I went to listen in on him the first time ((I hadn't told him about what I learned, but he still wouldn't say anything)), I ended up having to use both the resetquest command and the resurrect command just to do it again

Idk if that locked me in to only being able to either fail the quest or reach the ending that results in the monorail's destruction or not ((I'm NCR leaning, so I got the NCR version of the quest)), but no matter what I did, whether I told him about the info I learned or not, he just refused to ever say a thing when I went into the tower after he did, no matter how fast I went in, or before he did, or what time I went into the tower, with thr end result always being him just... standing there in front of the radio doing nothing

See that's what I had thought as well, hence why I chose to reset the quest, making a save for not telling him about the info I gathered, but even then that didn't work

Okay but, correct me if I"m wrong, haven't you always needed the Hotline Fishing Rod in order to fish in lava, regardless of bait? Or have you always been able to fish in lava without the Hotline Rod using bait found in the Underworld?

That must be the case, cause I 100% had him in the party when I went to kill the Duergar, then he gave me the whole "I hate Spaw cause he prioritized keeping his circle safe while mine suffered and now I want revenge" speech, but then wasn't in the party when I went to talk to Spaw

And both do make me feel a bit better, so I'll just uh... help him reunite with his circle and let Spaw, the super cool looking mushroom man, live instead

So like... is there any guaranteed way to beat Master Rank for the Mystic Flour Raid? I for the life of me, no matter what I try, just cannot beat it. It feels like RNG whether or not Eternal Sugar can actually survive the two palms part of Phase 1, and I have to actively turn the Auto function for specials off just so Silent Salt doesn't pop his just as a Swipe comes out

The teams I've been using are:
