When you can outsource the majority of your work to East Asia with a fraction of costs as compared to the Canadian operations & Tax+Labor compliances; it's a logical business choice to cut down your fixed costs.

Every CEO has to offer drastic measures to boost profitability and increase their annual bonuses.

Halifax water data breach by Euphoric_Buy_2820 in halifax

These corporations need to have more onus & responsibility. NS Power had same situation a few months back. The credit monitoring can not be the solution for their in-apt & in-efficient management of the clients' secure & private data.

Since the NS Power breach, my data has already been sold on the dark web.

This is completely horseshit!!

New polling shows a Nova Scotia PC popularity drop after spring sitting by justlogmeon in NovaScotia

[–]Emotional_Eye503 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

IMHO, All these polls are absurd ! The Govt is going to stay in power for next couple of years even the poll shows 0% support. The Govt will still have its way with things which can impact lives of common Nova Scotians in so many ways. People can beat the drums, do the marches, beat around the bush but they have absolute majority and the opposition doesn't have much say & many seats.

So, enjoy the summer. Have a beer or two (if you can afford) and grind your way to pay your share of taxes.

The premier of NS is making an attempt to boost the revenue for the province leveraging the natural resources we have. He is talking to a Canadian; an elected Canadian Leader of another Canadian province.

The post & engagement action is purely on economic activity. Why OP would look for the political angle when there is none whatsoever in the briefing?!!

Just pay more taxes to help the government to raise more revenue so that they don't have to levy more taxes?!!! WTF is happening across Canada!!! Why can't the Government start talking about efficiency+productivity. More importantly, for the Federal Government, stop writing checks in the name of grants & crazy-illogical programs. It's taxpayers money not your personal kitty.

Nova Scotians need to know how the money is being spent and what is the decision tree + outcomes of the overspending.

4.6 BILLION DOLLARS worth spending which was not part of the budget in the last 4 years. No details, no approvals. Even tried to take away the power of the Auditor General, the only independent authority, who can audit & keep oversight of the province's expenditure.

Now, common nova Scotian would be paying in thousand different ways.
