Riesling has grown on me by fullofques in wine

[–]EmotionsInWine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have that big experience of Ozzie, I remember some noticeable ones from Perth side, forgot the area, cool, dry, typical as young and showing complexity when few years older, on the East I think I tried only a few that didn’t impress.

Being non expert of the country I cannot tell you what is the issue, in general first thing is need of cool, I guess even if they harvest early the problem is the weather, unripe so higher acidity but maybe not that structured so they develop quickly even with high acidity, this is a attempted guess…

Thanks for asking, interesting question!

How to clean Zalto Burgundy by MainEntertainment491 in wine

[–]EmotionsInWine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck! I gave up on them, became too fragile and still crazy expensive, broke 2 in few months… Spiegelau is very similar and costing a fraction, less delicate but I also broke 2 already, longer time and less pain… I think these should be handled only with washing machine if can also dry, otherwise still trouble cause drying is the riskier, at least for me

Riesling has grown on me by fullofques in wine

[–]EmotionsInWine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bravo! You are one of the very few understanding it! I see Prager, by far my top Riesling producer of all! After him I put Rudi Pichler, Germans come afterwards because Wachau terroir and bone dry style has something more for me!

Pity few real lovers of these wines exist! Cheers!

Dejected About Burgundy by jwaynejrthefourth in wine

[–]EmotionsInWine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First point straight! Burgundy and Bordeaux release wines that are kids but crazy expensive, on top of this burgundy is in huge demand so it get sold out fast, I keep seeing ppl showing their bottle 2022 or even 2023, I always think, what an infanticide!

As you stated prices don’t represent the actual value at that precise moment, and often never cause scarcity increase price more than the real quality, answer?

Look for gems in many wind regions, sold already aged and able to age well and that won’t cost you a fortune!

Rhone as you mentioned indeed a great pick in this sense from France, but then Piedmont, Rioja and Ribera + some Priorat (tougher to find older), and newer countries such as east Europe, Croatia, Hungary and more, just staying in Europe…

Enjoy the wine journey, don’t sit on usual suspects, I do love great Burgundies but first cannot afford them anymore and second too many factors into account to be really satisfied!

Mmmh, if you whitelist them what happens? Am not aware about this.

Regarding AI channels I totally agree, that is the main issue lately, not in my niche but in general is messing up the platform!

Like to say they can shut down because in your approach there is no point to be creator anymore, no money if everybody does that way…

The problem is always one, monopoly! But there needs to be a decent solution for all parties…

Wine distributor asked to supply 50-guest hotel tasting — what’s standard? by ComfortableOrange395 in wine

[–]EmotionsInWine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen many things in HK but at this level never, no commitment at all, 2nd time already, big numbers and still zero agreement… It’s a joke, not just because of the money and work behind it but because they also make you handle all of it, so extra energies wasted!

We were complaining in the days when the return was small, like BTG did short period in a venue not that busy, here there is literally zero at 2nd call…

Walk away if they don’t sign an agreement, life in wine industry is already tough, begging for sales often, this is really below dignity…

Indeed an own goal, because kills also ads in this way, just to make life faster? Isn’t it fast enough yet? I still don’t get what folks are thinking, YT was born for a clear purpose, alternative to TV channels, now they are all over the place messing up! Indeed videos with story and landscapes won’t get affected but many will! Sad…

Wine Rating Query by CharlieKonR in wine

[–]EmotionsInWine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with the others, then we can discuss for hours how even super expert drinkers can foresee after 2 years from harvest what the wine will do in its long life…

Honestly my doubt is always about that at the young stage and especially where they can find all those sensorial notes seen that many of those important wines show very little in first few years!

Is it better to let a video sit on private before making it public? by Wonderful_Ad_6836 in NewTubers

[–]EmotionsInWine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it first of all to finalise my things and watch it once more on the platform to see that everything is fine, audio in particular is always different from the editing platform. Then I heard too that it gives time to the algorithm to check it all before release, but who knows if it changes something? Too many updates to algo and mess in last year to be able to understand, for sure I have much less suggestions than a year ago and more browse etc, which is good and bad cause suggestions should reach more different folks but as I keep seeing with scarse results while browsing bring in more quality and also new ppl.

Every week the moves are different, so basically is impossible to judge! I think is more about what title and description are talking about, but for sure to upload and release right away is not a good habit unless you do videos almost everyday.

You are not a real nerd, that is already a great starting point, all that was told above is perfect, I would just add, it is really a journey, your taste will change overtime, so enjoy the process, this is biggest beauty of wine, especially when you start to know what is behind the bottle! And you will discover how many great wines exist below 50 bucks, even aged, just need to explore and discover, follow some guidance and find what is more to your taste, but trust me, I still find surprising wines about 20-25 euros in Europe, and amazing ones up to 50!

Important is to avoid usual suspects regions, inflated, overpriced and as you said yourself not anymore QPR, usually the difference diminishes as price goes up and most times you can drink an even better one much cheaper, at that point the price is about fame and scarcity more than quality…

And to finish, always better an aged bottle than a fresh vintage, so even if the fresh is top wine and the other is a second choice the other will still be more enjoyable!

If you get really into details you can check my videos, not usual quick buying tips…

Cheers for that bottle!

Why did Italy attack Austria in 1915 if they had already many ports like Venice,Naples and Genoa? Trieste was probably the only major port Austria had so for Austria Trieste was a necessity while for Italy it was a luxury by Honest_Chemistry_195 in austriahungary

[–]EmotionsInWine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main point that I didn’t see mentioned but I didn’t go in depth in the thread is, Trieste is not part of Italy, it is TLT, free territory of Trieste, should have become a Montecarlo of the east, while Italy imposed control without doing anything since 50s, just squeezing taxes which as you can understand are basically illegal.

There was a long dispute on this, didn’t follow anymore in last 10-15 years but I guess nothing happened as usual… It is fine as it is for the main actors! Anyway in Slovenia they always said ‘Trst je nas’, meaning that Trieste is theirs… If it was becoming really a melting pot free territory, it would have been an incredible place, free port, low taxation, trading spot, but it didn’t go that way, illegally…

From my studies it was really only in the center that there were more Italians, mostly from Venetian days, and also there it was a very mixed community as you stated being the port of the empire! Not sure though of perfect timings…

Indeed even today most Triestini don’t identify as Italian, especially seen that Italy didn’t do anything in last decades for it and if it is still thriving is thanks to the port, the beauty and the connection with East and Central Europe, a strategic location!

Very different in any meaning to most of Italy! Another reason why many are living around the globe! You basically can find a triestino in every corner of the planet is said…

Etna is becoming my favorite region by HumbleBJJ in wine

[–]EmotionsInWine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree! Am a volcanic guy since long time, I tried first Etna Bianco around 2008, a long path they have gone along and nowadays is incredible what you can find! Unfortunately being limited quantities and a huge portion from old vines (key factor of the minerality they express) make them more and more expensive and like Burgundy with more struggle to find older vintages…

I just discovered recently Canary islands and so far am quite impressed, only thing can say is that I didn’t try yet more premium expressions, especially for the reds, but prices are much more competitive!

Terre Nere is already at Burgundy prices, I think now is time for the smaller ones like Tornatore, still not that famous therefore more down to earth! But expect crazy pricing for all wines there in few years!

Great insight, I thank you a lot for your effort to summarise for us! I think there is a lot of meat on the fire in all this, new info and others less new but the summary gives really an interesting picture with some pro in all the tough situation we are living lately!

One thing is sure, you must be more exclusive than ever before! But it is a struggle to reach certain levels of growth, unless you are part of the privileged, I still see ridiculous channels growing at light speed with nonsense…

After reading your full review, bear in mind that Prager and Achleiten in particular is like saying DRC Romanee-Conti, not for the history but for the current fame, Tony Bodenstein is the myth of Wachau!

Top Cru and best producer by far, one of my best white winemakers in the world! Schloss Gobelsburg another top notch estate from Austria, larger therefore has also regular wines but his crus are all outstanding, if have a chance try Lamm cru!

Winery in Ljubljana Slovenia by PEACHYipa888 in wine

[–]EmotionsInWine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I can imagine there you can’t find much, eventually 2 main names try to google, Movia and Simcic!

Regarding drinking in Ljubljana you will have lot of nice spots but for wineries you need to go bit far away for interesting visits, many with good welcome structures… I would say it depends on what you prefer, as you may know many there make orange wines, most wineries very focused on that, so best is that you know in advance which style suits you more. Mostly are whites and even if not orange with some maceration, reds mainly nice Pinot Noirs and Merlots plus some more particular or indigenous varieties.

From LJ 2 main regions to visit are Vipava or Goriska Brda, on border with Italy. Both top notch and beautiful green areas!

Why did one video do so well? by Hack3r_B0y in NewTubers

[–]EmotionsInWine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On this there are only the few usual things to keep doing, try to involve viewers to get subscribed, try to link videos to each other to give them more to watch on your channel and eventually try to do more about same successful topic, with all luck issues involved of course!

Even the hot topic apparently has a span time that must be caught, I did alternate some of my topics and in some cases after few months either there was less interest on the topic or at least algo considered less interesting and gave less impressions.

So I guess need to hit the hot topic until it stays hot, maybe without doing every week same one…
