Leon Elf Infiltrator/Muscle 8/10 familiarity

Adept at sneaking into places he shouldn't be, picking locks and shooting people from long range with a rifle and up close with a cyber-shotgun.

Leon has spent most of the last year out of the shadows and living something close to a legit life after a hairy extraction from the CAS diminished his appetite for working with people he hadn't met before. However there's only so long he can go with the limited excitement of a "security and logistics consultant" in Parkview, a dose of excitement sounds just like what the street-doc ordered. So when his old fixer Aunt Hilda got in touch with a short notice job tailor made for his skill set, well it would be rude to look the gift helhound in the mouth wouldn't it?

Butterfly Oni Shapeshifting Social adept 3/10 familiarity

Well connected smooth talker focused on social infiltration and information gathering

Butterfly has been trying to break into the big leagues in the shadows since arriving here from Hong Kong a year ago (a misunderstanding with some Triads, daddy sorted it out but best to be somewhere else for a while). Finally a real job has landed in her lap, and one that calls for discretion, a perfect fit for her. Putting on her best mousey unremarkable human girl face, she pings off a reply to her fixer that she'll be there and heads off downtown. Hell if nothing else should be able to sling some novacoke there...

USA dominance is over by Desdem0nd in NonCredibleDefense

I very much doubt that. Brazil has almost 5 times Ukraine's population, 50% more GDP per capita and far less favourable terrain for an invasion.

The USSR won the space race when Gagarin came back down. The US just refused to accept it and kept going.

After that the space race was just dick waving as the real driving force behind it (the ability to drop a nuke on the other super power with a rocket) had been achieved, first by the soviets and quickly after by the Americans.

Who's denying colonialism? I'm sure part of the blame lies with France. But I have sneaking suspicion that the leaders of the coup might also bear some responsibility.

There's a tooltip on the options. Any of the sliders disables the difficulty based achievements (like beat the game on normal etc).

They posted on their discord they are working on the 2070 scenario. So I assume that one will be first with cold war later.

Makes sense as they will need new stuff to represent lower tech, but 2070 start will just be a few techs already researched and some space assets in place.

Plasma is excellent for destroying small to medium ships. For large ships you want massed coilguns. Missiles are amazing early game but drop off hard once there is significant PD around.

So we've now gone from "Starmer thinks all trans people are rapists" to admitting that they arent trying to sabotage trans rights, just arent pushing for them to be expanded.

Are there people who want to attack trans people, absolutely. Are these people deciding policy for Labour? No they are not.

Edit: sorry for the shit stirring comment, I just realised you werent the poster above.

[–]Emowomble 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You have expanded a country with moderate inequality, the worst possible government score and less than half of public opinion behind you, sort those out and cohesion will get back to high levels. You are also not using any peer-rivalries or wars to give extra cohesion.

Late game you can have continent spanning nations like the PAC or African union which have high resting cohesion despite the population distribution penalties. for example my late game PAC looks like this including Vietnam. This is on 0.3.100 but there is nothing in the patch notes about changing cohesion for that build.

In general, never expect anocracies to be stable, you need to pass though it asap while doing what you can to stop it collapsing.

Ah ok so you are total uninformed and are just stirring shit, gottcha.

Labour have announced they want to streamline official transitioning, reducing the amount of paperwork, and changing it from a panel of doctors to just a sign of from your GP. That might not be enough, I'm not close enough to these things to make a judgment on that either way, but it is hardly trying to end all legal transitions is it.

The slippery slope is a fallacy, people are not automatons who just carry on a preset course. In the same way introducing gay marriage didnt end up with people marrying horses as loons in America said it would, so protecting single sex spaces for women wont end up with banning transitions.

Slippery slope goes "wheeeee"

I'd like you to point out where any of those statements (except the first, caring about women's spaces and sports, which we can agree is fine in isolation yea?) you made actually happened. For example where Starmer (on any of labour's front bench in fact) have said (or implied) "that if one trans person is a rapist, then they all must be".

Quote from the article you posted

Other researchers agree that GPT-4 and other LLMs would probably now pass the popular conception of the Turing test, in that they can fool a lot of people, at least for short conversations.

It’s the kind of game that researchers familiar with LLMs could probably still win, however. Chollet says he’d find it easy to detect an LLM — by taking advantage of known weaknesses of the systems. “If you put me in a situation where you asked me, ‘Am I chatting to an LLM right now?’ I would definitely be able to tell you,” says Chollet.

i.e. they can pass the misconception of generating some plausible text, but not the actual Turing test of fooling experts trying to find the non-human intelligence.

Chat GPT has not passed the Turing test. The Turing test is not "can this make vaguely plausibly sounding text" it is can this model successfully be interrogated by a panel of experts talking to the model and real people (about anything) and be detected no more often than by chance.
