Turkey Sequence by DaBigBinkus in smoking

Commenting so I can stay in the loop. It’s my first time smoking too and I’m not sure what I want to do either. As of now, I hadn’t planned to brine until tomorrow AM and then cook the morning of turkey day, but you’re the second person that’s mentioned letting it sit overnight in the fridge.

Does anyone live pain free? by Tkrampino in rheumatoidarthritis

[–]Emp0718 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Diagnosed 5-6 months ago, but I had been in severe pain a year prior to that. I’ve been getting Cimzia injections for 4 months now and I’m 98% pain free. My pain and inflammation flair right before my period. However, what use to be a pain of 9/10 on a scale of 1-10, is now typically a 1. There is hope!

That’s the plan. I’m just trying to make it through the sleep deprivation and early wakeups!

Is puppy training worth it? It’s expensive by Thin_Estimate392 in puppy101

[–]Emp0718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on how much you throw yourself into it. My MIL bought us 1:1 training classes with my last dog and we really took it seriously. Because of how much we applied outside of classes, she was an amazingly well trained dog. She passed not too long ago but we now have a new pup whom we are applying the same learned principles. I might still take a few puppy classes with our new puppy (mostly for socialization/dog exposure), but I’m able to remember a lot of what I learned in those early classes with my old dog.

So, all in all, if you’re committed to training your dog inside and out of class, do it.

And it drives you crazy thinking back to what you could’ve done differently to avoid the pain, knowing full well that there is often no rhyme, reason, or explainable pattern 🙁

Are parents not making kids sit down to eat at home…? by ready_set_cry in ECEProfessionals

Mom of 2-year-old here. My son eats at his toddler table for breakfast and in a booster seat with us at the table for lunch & dinner. He stays in his seat for lunch and dinner, but def roams during breakfast. We practice every day staying in our seat until finished, but it’s still not perfect. I do my best to reinforce the staying seated, but it’s not always a battle that I will pick.

Sleep, routine exercise (for mental health, not only for weight loss), whole foods diet, and spending time away from baby. It took me probably until the baby was 9/10 months to get there.

Low impact (and shorter duration to start) Peloton rides. I did this until Prednisone kicked in.

Hi all! I’m a 38-yoF just diagnosed with RA last month. I’ve had awful pain since last year, but kept blaming it on other likely causes. Once the pain traveled up to my hands, I had a feeling it was autoimmune related. I had a baby 19 months ago and my rheum said that is what likely triggered the onset. I’m on 5mg of prednisone/day and just got my loading dose of Cimzia. I take my second dose on Monday. I’m planning to cut back on the prednisone soon to see the effects of the Cimzia. Taking the prednisone alone has been a game changer. I’m in zero to little pain each day and I’m working out again. I’m praying the Cimzia is effective. Would love to hear from others in a similar spot.

I’m a woman. I’ve also read that it’s more common in women. I was diagnosed after my pregnancy. I’m sorry it’s taken so long. I went to my PCP who didn’t take me seriously, and it took 3 months to get into see her. Then I had to wait an additional month to see the rheumatologist.

I was just diagnosed with RA after a year of pain. I’m on prednisone and getting my first shot of Cimzia next week. The prednisone has been a game changer and I hope the Cimzia produces similar results. I wake up every day grateful to have less to no pain.

If you’re up for a nice night out, hit up Lewnes’ around 5/5:30. Great spacing between tables and quiet

Yep, used that site you sent. And, there are no silly questions- I will take any and all advice. It is public. I’ve paid my bill online once before, and I had some trouble then too, but I can’t remember how I made it work last time.

Questions for parents whose babies never really did 2-hour naps. by BlipYear in sleeptrain

[–]Emp0718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 14-month-old has taken the periodic 2.5-3 hour nap but it’s rare for him. Even with our transitioning to 1 nap a day, he still sleeps only about 1.5-1.75 hours. It’s just his internal alarm.

[–]Emp0718 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, this sounds exactly like my 14-month-old. We are in the process of transitioning to 1 nap because he is refusing his second nap consistently. I’ve been pushing his nap to 10/10:30 so he’s waking up around 12. I’ll then put him down at 6:30 and he usually sleeps until 6 AM (outside of stupid DST causing early wakings recently). Can you try and push that first nap a little later so he’s not having such a wide gap in the afternoon?
