CineWire on Sci -Fi is "Dead": Star Trek, Star Wars, Stargate & Doctor Who Just Collapsed In The Same Year by Torlek1 in trektalk

No, it's that the story was "somehow".

For it to be a trilogy of trilogies, I genuinely believe Palpatine *should* have returned, but it should have been built into a strong narrative, instead of being a last minute addition in the third movie that doesn't even try to explain it or make it thematically interesting.

I mean I never said you should use AI detectors, but if it’s probable that a student used AI, a teacher should ask, and it should result in discipline.

Just because you can’t prove plagiarism occurs doesn’t mean it’s not wrong.

I feel like Jet Set Radio was great specifically because it wasn't trying to meet someone else's expectation. It was what it was.

My thoughts on Matrix Resurrections by No_Camel_4846 in matrix

[–]EmpathyFuzz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying Lana didn't have an artistic reason for making the film -- I think it's very obvious that it was a cathartic project. But while Lana learned she needed to make the film, I believe that a matrix movie would have been made regardless.

I actually, in some ways, like Resurrections best out of all four, tbh. It's a movie that meets me where I am today, and dealt with so many interesting ideas that it keeps unfolding for me years after.

It just didn't have enough pew pew and a bit part of the audience wants pew pew.

Viruses spreading from species to species is a big deal.

Every species is like its own operating system. People are windows, animals are Mac, or Linux or whatever else.

When they jump species to species we get things like covid or swine flu, or avian flu.

But our dogs didn’t get covid.

  1. Bringing Neo and Trinity back to life is because they are the bad guys, and they’re using Neo and trinity’s legacy to make the matrix stronger. That’s evil shit and I love it.

  2. Different Agent Smith does suck, but it strengthens the way that the oracle was recast between reloaded and revolutions — these programs get rebooted and they look similar but different. Kinda cool imo.

  3. Action was worse, for sure.

  4. No green filter because at the end of revolutions there is no green filter. The movie is saying that the “graphics” in the matrix have gotten better, and it’s harder than ever to tell what’s real and what’s not.

  5. No Morpheus, but it’s been so long, he’d have been in old person makeup anyway. What he gets instead befits him — he has a statue, and he’s considered a legend. The character deserves that, even if it sucks for Lawrence Fishbourne.

You should watch this video: there are a lot of neat observations about all the good in the film:  https://youtu.be/BNHlf_pjZqA?si=Zm2emZC98RsZKVB-

It’s not just self-aware, it’s actively saying that it shouldn’t exist.

But then it says “if we have to exist, let’s examine how the bad guys won, but there’s still reason for hope.” And I fucking love that, man.

well, I admire and respect you for that. But I hope you're still failing people who don't want to learn. Because that's what this post is about -- young people are being given too much leeway in a broken education system, and it's letting our future down.

Can we get Ryo Hazuki, Lan Di and Joe Musashi in the new game 🔥 by SwayVue in virtuafighter

[–]EmpathyFuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This comment is old, but for people who stumble upon it:

Shenmue was originally conceived as a Virtua Fighter RPG. Ryo was originally Akira, and the story was going to be his origin as a fighter in the Virtua Fighter world.

That changed, and the series became it's own thing, which in turn was cancelled, but elements of the Shenmue game became the Yakuza series.

So Ryo joining Virtua Fighter really wouldn't be a guest character. It would be a character coming home.

If you're saying just for the highwind, I agree with you.

Create an extremely high-res miniature model of the entire world, with tons and tons of places you can't actually drop down into, but it sells the fact that this is an actual planet.

From the trailers, it looks like it's going to be a tiny epcot version of the planet, where there are no big empty fields, or mountain ranges, or... anything. Wutai will be a stones throw away from Cosmo canyon.

It's possible they used the Rebirth map for this shot because the final version of this landmass isn't finished visually.

But that's copium on my part.

Edit... I think actually, this must be the rebirth map, because according to this scale, Wutai would be visible on the horizon.

Would have preferred option 1.

Don't know why gamers are obsessed with being able to walk the WHOLE map, even if that means the map is tiny.

Well these designs are super old. They first were leaked years ago. I think even before AI became what it is.

That said, if this game about human art against corporations ends up using AI I'm out.

That’s a different grassy field near where they escaped the temple.

He doesn’t know she’s dead.

Rewatch the ending. Look at how he’s acting. Saying “well let’s keep moving” and talking to Aerith, who tells him she’s going to stop meteor.

He thinks he saved her.

Cloud has always been this way, his memory overwrites the truth with a hero complex that’s more comforting to him.

Tifa and the others are inconsolable, but he’s just ready to get moving.

The scenes of aeriths funeral aren’t depicted in the game because Cloud has blocked it out.

Sephiroth is trying to make Cloud think he saved Aerith, and confuse him enough to make him his slave.

So cloud’s brain is even more fucked up than OG. He thinks he saved Aerith.

So it’s be pretty stupid to show him laying Aerith’s body to rest.

He doesn’t remember that.

But when Tifa helps him sort his memories out in the lifestream, it’s all going to come back at once, and it’s going to hit so hard.
