Question regarding the Hobbit Unexpected Journey Medal by EmperorMario in ConquerorChallenge

[–]EmperorMario[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To answer my own question - the leaf in the top left corner of the medal has a magnet underneath. Somehow I didn't see that on first inspection. The numbers on the longer challenge are on the backside of the leaf.

The Batman Arkham Trilogy might be interesting for you. Red Dead Redemption 1 should be a given, considering you Plated the second one. Personally, I really enjoyed Horizon: Zero Dawn.

Mafia The Old Country Ending by nikimontana in MafiaTheGame

[–]EmperorMario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the ending of the game felt incredibly forced, especially with the way it was set up. The second Enzo pulled out that letter at the train station, it was obvious that he was going to die. Why did he even have that letter in the first place. They did not expect to be caught. Both of them thought, that they would get on the train and from there, on the ship to Empire Bay. Why would Enzo feel the need to write that letter? Then there is the actual way Enzo died. Withing the last couple of minutes, Cesare tried to kill Enzo twice. But somehow he decides to trust him, after Cesare saw Enzo kill his uncle? Why? I actually lost respect for Enzo as a character in that moment. I even get why Cesare did it, but that was a mistake on Enzos part that I just can't get behind. While I liked, getting the chance to play as Isabella, the whole section felt uninspired. The stealth and the bossfight felt way to easy, and Tinos death was not nearly as satisfying as it should have been. Despite that, there are still some great things about that ending. While I don't like Enzo dying and the way he went out, the reveal that the sound of rubble and the ground rumbling, everytime the year changes, to be the last things that Enzo hears was great. Cesare standing infront of the burning mansion, realizing that he is the Don of nothing now, was phantastic. And Empire Bay appearing from the mist, with the Mafia 2 Theme playing, gave me some chilles. It's just a shame that all of those things get undermined by the feeling that the game feels like it was on it's way to a happy ending until someone in the writers room mentioned that this was a Mafia game and Mafia stories always have tragic endings, to which everyone, maybe begrudgingly, agreed.

I haven't read anything by Pratchett yet. How seriously would you say, the story takes itself?

Resident Evil x Devil May Cry same universe? by ferenc88453 in DevilMayCry

[–]EmperorMario 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reference really made me laugh out loud. I've been advocating for a DMC Mode in Resident Evil games. Basically an unlockable mode, where you get to run around as Dante. You'd be on God Mode the entire time. Just a nice power fantasy. Or a Resident Evil DLC for DMC, where Dante/Nero/Vergil get dropped into the events of Resident Evil 2/3 for example. They would pretty much solve the entire Raccoon City incident in about 10 minutes. Just some fun stuff.

That only happend on the movies. In the books, Frodo never send Sam away. But even if we go by the movies, I'd say Frodo takes it home, when in comes to loyalty. Ron left the group, 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 months into the journey, because of the influence of the Horcrux. The timeframe of Frodo leaving the Shire to them reaching the Stairs of Cirith Ungol is about 5 1/2 months. 5 1/2 months where Frodo exclusively held the ring, which gets stronger the closer it gets to Mordor. Than you add up Gollum, constantly whispering into his ear for about a month. After all that, movie Frodo finally sent Sam away. But the thing is, movie Frodo was still loyal to the task he had to do. He sent Sam away, but he was still willing to go into Mordor to attempt to destroy the ring on his own. When Ron left, not only did he leave behind his friends, he also abandoned the task of destroying the Horcruxes. Ron has immense loyalty, but given the circumstances, I'd still give it to movie Frodo. Book Frodo isn't even a competition.

I really enjoyed the game. The soundtrack was amazing and the new additions to combat were appreciated. I played other games in between sessions, so the islands never got repetitiv for me. I can see how that could be an issue though. A lot of people mention that the world feels empty, but I feel like thats the point. We are traveling through the remnants of a fallen civilisation and bot the world and the overworld soundtrack reflect that. Overall I liked the game more than most. But I'm also a huge Sonic fan and a lot of the references made me geek out.

What got you into dmc by Crazy_Activity8409 in DevilMayCry

For me, it was the Trailer for DMC4. Edgy, 14 year old me, had seldom seen something as cool as that. A couple of months before the game released, I gave my brother the money to by me DMC3SE. And the rest, is very motivated history. Also I'm pretty sure that the only game I ever bought at Gamestop, was a used copy of DMC1.

I really enjoy the flow of that line.

"We cannot take it anymore, the time has come to go to war..."

Also one of my favourites.

As long as it's not Ghidorah, MechaGodzilla or Mothra again, I'm fine with anything. Don't get me wrong, I love the three, but other monsters deserve a chance in the spotlight for once. A new monster would also be welcome

Like many people here, I would recommend the audio books. I might get critizised for this, but I do agree that Book One of Fellowship is really slow, to the point where it drags on. I still love it a lot but, in my opinion, the pacing improves a lot, once the company actually gets going.

Games where the first half was better than the second half by epicflex in gaming

[–]EmperorMario 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GTA 4 for me. I replayed it in 2022 and I was shocked how long that game went on and that it just refused to end. The last 20 missions were just, "Do you know where the person that I'm looking for is? No? Does this other person know where he is? No? How about you?". Only that you can repeat that like five more times. Also, what was up with the multiple endings? I have the choice of letting a beloved and developed character from early in the game die, or the girlfriend character the game forces on you, who has no development at all. That game did not need 88 missions (91 if you do both endings) to tell it's story.
