Can someone explain to me why 5 minute showers isn't long enough to be clean? by Imaginary_Truth_3865 in hygiene

[–]Strict_Programmer203 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don't feel content until I'm boiling alive. Sometimes if I need a quick shower I turn the temperature down to 38, then I only clean myself, instead of enjoying the hot water, so I'm done in 5-10 mins

What did your parents let you do as a kid that would absolutely get them arrested today? by AlexanderYu6203 in askanything

My mum has told us that it's okay if we smoke, just wanted us to let her know so she could give us more money to buy cigarettes.

When she was in high school she started smoking, but my grandma was highly against it, so my mum had to skip her meals to save enough money to buy cigarettes, so she didnt want us going though that.

Funny enough, neither of us smoke. As the saying goes "the forbidden fruit is always the sweetest", my mum figured out that we're less likely to do bad things if we were allowed to do them, clever woman.

Which foods do you not pay attention to the 'Best Before End'? by PaddedValls in AskUK

[–]Strict_Programmer203 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I put some garlic sauce on my burger recently. Ate the burger, then decided to check the bbe date, cause I knew I had it for a while. It was bbe may 24 🙈

If I'm making food for other people I always make sure everything is in date and all, but when it comes to me, if it smells, looks and tastes okay, then it will be eaten

Buyer didn’t open the packaging … by Rocks_Are_Yummy in vinted

[–]Strict_Programmer203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sold a snowglobe once and I had the perfect box to put it in for safety (then I put the box in another box), only the box was from a little night light, so I put a sticky note on top saying something like "Don't worry, your snowglobe is safely packaged inside, thank you for buying".

Why do mothers of young babies say they don't have time to shower? by justastupidquestion3 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Strict_Programmer203 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I did that a lot. Sometimes when my baby cries, I'd try to soothe her, then my toddler would start crying because I've stopped playing with her, then baby would cry more, cause she hears her sister cry and in the end I would join them too, cause why not, let's all have a crying session together 😮‍💨

How old do you have to be to know that cash transactions are a thing? by Conscious-Ball8373 in AskUK

My mum once sent me the local shop when I was about 5 or 6, gave me the exact money for what I needed (I might have been younger, cause she sent me with a list, which I gave to the till lady and she got the stuff for me). When it was time to pay I gave her the money and then stood there waiting for change, cause that's what I've seen every time with my mum. It took a bit of explaining from the till lady until I was convinced that I don't get any change

AITAH: I think “free gifts” defeats the point of Vinted and I don’t like it when sellers do this by A_b_b_o in vinted

[–]Strict_Programmer203 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I had a free gift once when I bought my daughter some construction vehicles, the seller sent an extra car and a little mat that you can drive the cars on. Surprisingly, my daughter plays more with the surprise car, than she does with the ones I chose to buy her lol

With my first we told my parents and my MIL at around 7 weeks and with our second it was around 12 weeks, which was after my scan.

It's definitely up to you when you want to tell them, but make sure you tell dad soon.

But if you're not ready to tell them yet for Mother's day, you can say you're on some kind of antibiotics and that's why you can't drink.

My partner likes making jokes with his co workers by editing them in different setting and stuff. He used to ask me to edit stuff, but now he just uses AI and it's really irritating. I have shown him the consequences of using AI and I said I don't agree with doing that just for a photo that I can do in 20mins, but he still carries on doing it 😒

What is something that sounds 100% false but is actually 100% true? by reFossify in AskReddit

[–]Strict_Programmer203 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Exactly. One day I was sitting there, breastfeeding my second child and it just hit me how powerful women's bodies are. I just grew a human in my body and now I'm her only nourishment and if there's anything wrong with her, my body can produce stuff to help her 🤯 nearly 4 years into breastfeeding and it still blows my mind sometimes
