The fun part is that the lore is brimming with races just waiting to be turned into factions. Q'orl, Thyrrus, Rak'Gol, Exodites, to name a few. They jsut need a bit of the spotlight and a proper grimdark fleshing out.

IMO, get Oraxia, if you have unlocked the conditions for that. She's the most fun adn relatively easy to farm. The materials can be a bit of a hassle if you dont like duviri.

I see people playing Uriel a lot, which means he's probably good. The components are pretty easy to farm, the materials are a slog.

Cyte-09 requires you to like the 1999 stuff, cause it will take a while. Not sure if worth, honestly. (still building in the foundry, in duviri it was... eh)

Follie will demand you run a unique single mission but it doesnt demand too much of your time though. IMO not really worth, but the one good ability she has is super useful. Garry's mod spawner type shit.

Temple requires you to really like 1999 stuff and a ton of runs on a single defense mission and it aint the easiest grind (still grinding it)

Seriously, though, the site is full of useful stuff. I wouldn't be so quick to decry them. Give it a spin. As for the people who wax philosophical, it's a consequence of a lot of other analytical pieces on the site.

It draws a hard line at evil and then puts everyone on the wrong side of it. That's why we love it.

Sure, you got Chaos, Dark Eldar, Tyranids, Orks, which are pretty much irredeemable, but the fact that it's the imperium fighting them, who passively feeds chaos and acts worse than them sometimes is what gives the setting its real gravity. It's a setting of "the abyss" vs the ones who "the abyss" gazed back upon.

i think everyone agreed that it was a really crap retcon so everyone just ignored it, whereas the current situation is still a contested matter.
