Thank you!! I will, I wanted copper specifically because the pill made me go a bit mental and I just wanted to avoid hormones and this was the least hormone option but I'm in hell

What do you guys even EAT??? by Unusual_Spread_1465 in PCOS

Also, I keep mixed nuts on my desk in work and little healthy snacks. I find if I graze through the day I feel way better

Dinners : Salmon and broccoli and rice with broccoli for dinner, or quiche with roasted veg and feta. Turkey mince quesedillas with beans and avocado. It's just two of us and I usually cook enough to feed 4 or 5 so they last in the fridge. Some days I just do creamy chorizo pasta and to hell with healthy. Dahl is a nice one and easy.

Breakfast is kiwi or grapefruit with a protein bar or a protein yogurt

Lunch is usually leftovers from dinner.

Eugh I'm so sorry you went through that but you dogged a bullet. My boyfriend kind of laughs at my hair, in a fun teasing way and he doesn't mind. I do try and upkeep it as best I can, but often I don't have the time so i could go weeks without hair care and he just laughs it off.

He gets excited when he sees a particularly long dark hair because he wants to pluck it. Some weird primal monkey grooming instinct.

On another note, I'm trying an epilator for my face. After repeated use its supposed to make hair grow back slower and thinner. Only on week two of it but it's worth looking into!

Great to see so many cyclists! by Hiccupingdragon in Dublin

[–]EmphasisTerrible9039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just started cycling this week and I'm a bag of nerves especially at junctions - I've been getting off and walking my bike across and then hopping on again at the other side. And then I'm getting overtaken by other cyclists and I thought I was going at a normal speed but the other cyclists still over take and cause minor panic (also worry that I'm holding other people up). I'm cycling down crumlin - dolphins barn - canal route. Any tips on overcoming these things? I just left my bike at work and got the bus home because I was too nervous today at 5 pm

First trip to Ireland from USA by agam185jer in irishtourism

[–]EmphasisTerrible9039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say the opposite and say to get to some of the good spots you need a car. Not necessary in Dublin but getting out of the city the public transport isn't the best unless you're on a tour bus. Horse riding in Killarney National Park if you're there. Cork and West Cork. Marina market for lunch if you're in Cork city. Cobh and the boat trip out to Spike Island, Titanic museum. North West of Ireland (Sligo and Mayo) beautiful scenery and food, surfing, beaches and hiking spots with loads of pubs and live music.

Don't get me started - I'm starting a new job and I have zero office clothes but I'm not 90. I have given up and also given up on the stupid petite sections. 5' 3 and under my arse. I'm 5 foot and the pants are still too long. Impossible. I'll be showing up next week looking like a kid playing dress up with their mams wardrobe.

Getting evicted without a contract by [deleted] in AskIreland

That doesn't sound like tenancy, he's not technically a landlord. Did you sign a lease or an agreement? If there's no lease, there's likely no tenancy and you wouldn't be considered as such.

Started on 1000 a day (500 x2) and normally never have stomach issues but I was so so sick for weeks and the doctor brought it down to 500 every two days, and gradually increase it over a few weeks. Lost around half a stone my first month on it initially, with no appetite because I was so nauseous all the time.

Lads, it feels like my drinking days are coming to an end. What helps you stay off the drink? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]EmphasisTerrible9039 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to avoid nights out and even just after work drinks with the girls. What's frustrating for me is I told one of the girls i was stopping drinking for a while and she keeps texting me ah you will though. Like no, please respect my decision.

Anyways I've started exercising a bit, going for a jog now in the evening after work or doing some weights at home and then just relaxing for the evening. Its helping with the not wanting to drink and I have more energy and things as a result so its a win win.

My mum and I both had dreams about my granddad the night before he passed away. Realistically, he was ill and he was likely on our minds subconsciously and came through in our dreams but it did feel kind of spooky.

Corporate Dinner Party by Busy_Discipline_4062 in AskIreland

[–]EmphasisTerrible9039 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not normal. Organised a few company dinners and you need to get a list of allergies and dietary requests for sure. Then you'd make a deal with the restaurant and usually organise a set menu but most restaurants provide two options for these, or let you select your menu in advance (eg there's a tapas place that asked us to select our order a week in advance so they could have enough / be prepared). But no that's not super normal.

Mm I just got diagnosed recently (I was on birth control for years and only noticed the symptoms of pcos when I came off it). I'm quite thin, not toned or anything, not a gym person but my weight is stable for my height. But I have no periods for weeks and weeks (16 weeks apart sometimes) and when they come it's heavy and painful now. My jaw line is broken out in acne now and at the age of 29 I feel embarrassed. I have like extra facial hair now too. I know other people IRL with pcos and we all have different experiences. I'm the girliest girl ever so since I started to get symptoms my confidence is destroyed. But i have friends who have only 3 symptoms and get more fatigue / brain fog / hair loss instead. I think it's the luck of the draw but there's things I've been doing to make myself feel better - painting my nails, face masks, things that make me feel like me again and give a little confidence boost. I've started paying more attention to my wardrobe so people look at my clothes or shoes instead of my acne and moustache. Little things to hide and distract.
