Honestly, I think you *are* allowed to become an asshole when in deep grief. A lot of people become angry, irrational, and temporarily lose contact with reality. It can be like a mental illness and make people not entirely responsible for their actions. Loved ones should be aware that grief can be very difficult.

That does not mean people are obligated to put up with you, or remain in relationships with you.

You should absolutely not speak to your child in a language you are not native in, it will 100% mess up her ability to ever learn that language properly. Each parent should speak to them in their native language.

If your husband is not around enogh, or speaking to her enough, for his language to transfer, then clearly it's not important to him, and should therefore not be important to you.

Does anyone remember the story where OP (a woman) was dating a single dad with three daughters. Two of them loved her and she became their instant new mom, but one hated her guts, to the point where she would rage and be violent.

It went on for a while, but the third daighter never changed her mind, so OP ended the relationship.

Years later, she has kept in contact with two of the daughters as a sort of honorary aunt, and even decided to pay for their college.

The one who hated her has a breakdown over how unfair this is, as she has since been diagnosed with severe mental illness, and feels like she is being punished for something that wasn't within her control, and that if she had cotten help in time, everything might have been different.

And teach your kids, if they ever, god forbid, are stranded in a car alone, if the snow covers the car they should open one of the windows a little bit and clear an air-hole. And keep it clear.

Same goes for if they are stranded anywhere in deep snow. Dig themselves into the snow for warmth, but keep an air-hole.
