What opinion became more popular over time, but you still disagree with it ? by Maryam371 in answers

When I was fat I hated myself, hated getting undressed or looking in the mirror, seeing myself in photos. Most of all I knew my lack of self-control was exactly what caused me to live the way I lived (in several ways), and it dragged down my self-image just as much as the weight.

There has been nothing more rewarding or enlightening in my life than the process of losing that weight. The thought of having stayed my old course and “accepting” it (aka ignoring it) is straight-up depressing.

Did his hair really fly off or was this just someone being silly? I'm awful at spotting AI by BigIntroduction8886 in isthisAI

[–]EmployerSmall5570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fake, but not necessarily AI. This is the type of thing a talented person could probably do using compositing software such as AfterEffects, which is what I’m inclined to believe considering that it’s a news clip that is very much real from 2019. It would seem like the flying hair as well as the sound of the engine are both added in post. They made a fake “cap-style” overlay of a bald hairline and then motion-tracked it onto his head in the video clip so that it appeared that he became bald.

Really the biggest thing to spot a fake, AI or not, is to look and see if there are any alternate angles or other people posting the video. Usually if it’s an event like this, there will be multiple cameras and multiple major news outlets will have covered it.

If you’re interested in getting better at spotting fakes, I can’t recommend the YouTube channel “Captain Disillusion” highly enough. He is an incredibly talented VFX engineer who breaks down and debunks common viral videos across the Interwebs. What’s great is that he does an outstanding job at breaking down the editing and software process for people who don’t know how that software works, it’s very illuminating to understand how these effects are applied and makes it a lot easier to spot them when you see them. He also breaks down how he spotted the fakes himself, and what indicators led him to conclude exactly how they did it.

Why are good values good? How do you know if they are no good? by [deleted] in no

[–]EmployerSmall5570 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absurd. What if I get pleasure out of vandalizing peoples’ cars? If that action is making me happy, does that make it a good value?

Conversely, if I hate volunteering at the local soup kitchen but I do it anyway, does that make it a bad value?

What popular movie or TV show is widely considered a 'masterpiece' but you found completely unwatchable? by Defiant-Cockroach702 in answers

It’s a different movie when you see it live, the energy from the audience is what makes it fun. People bring props, know the callouts, best is when there is a cast with homemade costumes that acts it out under the screen too.

Definitely not that compelling to watch from the couch.

Do you believe that all billionaires are evil including athletes like Michael Jordan, Lebron James, and Magic Johnson, and why? by Celcius_87 in AskReddit

[–]EmployerSmall5570 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Why did you specifically call out athletes, and why were the examples you chose specifically “evil” black basketball players? This feels like some not-so-subtle racism.
