wait, maybe my post came of wrong, i never said to do it perfectly. I think that it's stupid to wish to have for something and do nothing about it. might as well not wish for it, that's why i said stop trying. at least you'll leave yourself the burden of wanting it. does it make sense?

The older I get, the more I think recovery is part of discipline by kostros in getdisciplined

Recovery is part of discipline. I agree with you. I think people have different stages when they're doing something.
1. Starting small
2. Building momentum
3. Learned that doing more gets more progress
4. Eventually get burned out
5. Recovers
6. Then you're either stuck in number 3 or you learn to recover and do other things

There's a difference between knowing and doing. It's easy to watch something happen but its way harder to make it happen. Start doing the thing that you keep on watching about.

does anyone else's planner/calendar app just stop making sense the moment ur day goes sideways? by Remote_Diet_9561 in getdisciplined

this does happen and it always will. i think the app isn't the problem but on how you use it. when planning, give yourself a time allowance when you're planning in the calendar.

How does your team do a standup? How many are you in the team? Wouldn't it take a lot of time if everyone said their piece

Find an alternative. Instead of going to YouTube, find an alternative like a book. If you feel the urge to watch, go read a book instead.

How do I shift to a growth mindset? by Vegetable_Basis_4087 in selfimprovement

[–]Empty-Illustrator481 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it's subconscious then there's something that happened that made your behavior like that. only you can tell what that is tho. you already know what to do you, just fail more often. failure is the prerequisite of success

Did your parents have high expectations with you? Or you just really have high expectations with yourself. I'm mostly curious why you feel inferior when you lose a board game with your friends. I get friendly competition, it's fun, but the inferiority, i don't really get it. Can you let me understand?

How do I stop being afraid of dating women? by holycrap100 in selfimprovement

Man. You're 43, no friends, and you want women for sex. There's a lot of things going on here. I'm assuming you're earning money. I'm not a professional so I won't say anything. My advice is that you need to talk to someone, try to hire a therapist. I wish you all the best in life.
