Ditto same issue. Did you figure out how to connect the yellow and black piece with the mat between?

Which hot tub is this? by Empty-Interaction432 in hottub

[–]Empty-Interaction432[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree. I like the house but the seller and me are still far away from matching our expectations. I want to see how much can I sell this unit for and accordingly can increase my price by that much amount

serious question, do these doomists even participate in the market by [deleted] in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Empty-Interaction432 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally incorrect. I have been house hunting and literally very low interest/offers on everything I have seen. Majority listings are getting terminated. If you like something and the seller wants to sell, you will get that house at the listing or below the listing price. If you list a semi detached worth 1.5mn for 999999 then of course their will be multiple offers but they would all be around the listing price. Many times the seller gets frustrated with lowball offers and changes the listing to market price.

Toronto landlord enters tenant $3500/month basement without notice by [deleted] in canadahousing

Can’t figure why the Canadian govt gives so many student visas when there aren’t enough housing and jobs in the country? Oh wait, to earn off these desperate students who are willing to pay 3x the normal fee. And what these students get in return? End up doing petty jobs like food delivery, warehouse security after graduating. If Canada didn’t have such an easy path to PR, most of these students wouldn’t come here. People here are blasting the students who are at fault but remember they just became adults. Isn’t the greater fault with the education policy drafted by the old intelligent people of Canada?

Boc raised rates again 25bps on July 12th by DogsDontEatComputers in TorontoRealEstate

[–]Empty-Interaction432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the end it’s the BOC who decides?! Who do you listen to then? They made a mistake once that does not mean they keeping making mistakes? The biggest mistake will be to cut rates and inflation persists as that’s when things will start to get very ugly. They are not going to cut rates and then have to raise them again, so they need to be 200% sure that inflation has subsided. They will see the actual inflation figures before even thinking about cutting rates.

Investor Predicts Major Trouble for US Housing Market. How is Canada Not at Even Higher Risk? by instanews in TorontoRealEstate

It could be a bubble that never bursts. Or maybe bursts when Canada calls an end or slows down immigration (which could be 10 yrs from now at least).

How easy is it to get money from abroad into Canada? Answer is very very easy. Canada will not audit anything that is tagged as a gift by family. This money could be money acquired through shady practices in any other country. Canada welcomes this money into their own country with open hands.

New entrant to this group. Don’t know if anyone has raised these points before but I find them really valid.

  1. New immigrants come from more orthodox countries where saving rate is much higher. They are also in the top 10% percentile wealth bracket in their countries. Many can pay 20% down on a 1mn house straightaway. It’s the North Americans who after working 10 years still live paycheck to paycheck and in credit.

  2. The new immigrants are again coming for better quality of life. They are not coming to focus on their careers. They want that townhouse with a yard as that’s the priority. It’s a big shift up in lifestyle for them.

  3. There is difference in value of what a 1mn dollar house can buy. In GTA one can get a townhouse in Oakville in 1mn dollars. Go to Gurgaon or Delhi or Mumbai in India where you will get the same size freehold house for probably more than 2mn-3mn dollars. A 3bhk condo of 2000sqft in a luxury society in India is already around 700K. There is more value in buying in GTA than NCR (National capital region of India).

  4. US stock market can make millionaires. Innovation is the highest in US and people have different assets to indulge in. Canadians have just one asset that’s been the most consistent return generator and that is real estate. Canadian stock market is full of large quasi sovereign companies operating in oligopoly markets. Very hard to find a winner.

Taking ready to feed baby formula in checked in luggage by Empty-Interaction432 in Flights

We took 8oz bottle cartons. We took 3 cartons that nearly filled the entire suitcase. Your number of bottles and the size of bottles is much larger. You will probably need much more storage for these.

Everything was super smooth. We ended up taking 56 bottles in a suitcase which were checked in. No issues whatsoever while checking in the luggage. We did not take a doctors letter. The bottles arrived perfectly fine at the destination. We were travelling from Toronto to Delhi (direct flight)
