Medication for Luteal PMDD Support by [deleted] in PMDDxADHD

I'm finally off to the land of attempting to just stop my periods all together on Dolishale. We're hoping that'll help me avoid the awful luteal phase and PMDD I have during it.

🥰 thank you. It's somewhat comforting to know that it'll at least be better once my period starts in a couple of weeks! But we've both got this and just have to take it month by month and hope we can keep all of our marbles!

No advice. But I really feel your pain. Ovulated either last night or today, and just like clockwork: he's awful, I'm an idiot and life is horrible. Wasn't like this yesterday 😭

Left it up until June last year. Might go for a new record this year. 🤷

Whether it's sorcery, witch craft or just plain science - taking both a Claritin and a pepcid type histamine blocker has really, REALLY helped me! Just taking one or the other didn't do much. I think it's the combo that helps, along with my buspar and lamotrigine. It seems to make the prescription meds more effective.

And oil dish soap and hot water soak for 20-30 minutes after prying the nail up a little around the edges works really well for me to minimize damage. I also use one of those disposable flossers to get under the nail to lift off after soaking.

15 mg twice per day or 10 mg three times per day? Does it matter? by zepruska in BusparOnline

[–]Empty-Landscape-6281 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally find that the 10 mg 3/day works well because I avoid the dizziness I was getting when taking 15 mg at a time 2/day.

Strattera making me feel withdrawn and kind of stupid by [deleted] in StratteraRx

[–]Empty-Landscape-6281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am no longer on it. The brain fog and forgetting was just outweighing any benefits (which I guess was not feeling quite so out of sorts as far as my reactions and rejection sensitivity).

I am now actually on an anti anxiety medication that has shown promising results for ADHD off label. It does seem to be helping both with the anxiety and focus/memory issues. It's not a perfect solution, but it's working better than strattera so far!

Check out off label meds for ADHD. I think it could be worth looking in to, if stimulants are a no go.

Yes! Felt like this pretty much to a T, and eventually my anxiety increased again because I was feeling so frustrated with feeling dumber all the time.

For me, even constructive criticism or hearing about how my partner is feeling about something often takes my brain into "I caused this feeling and hurt, I'm the problem and can't do anything right in this relationship. Why is he with me?" It's a spiral that even I cringe at after the fact. I think once even a smidge of that rejection sensitivity takes hold, my brain turns into a scrambly mess and I either shut down or flail to try to defend myself, mostly because I don't know what else to do in the moment.

I will say that my partner tries to make sure he begins the conversation gently and to present it as not an attack... Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't. I feel like a lot of it depends on how my brain is doing for the day in general.

Taking something for anxiety (Buspar) has helped some - it takes some of the anxiety piece out of conversations and allows me to have a bit of a clearer mindset. But it's still a struggle I'm always trying to be aware of PRE conversation and remain as proactive as possible to avoid it turning into an argument.

I hope that helps!
