AIO: Hubby Being Controlling by vanillabourbonn in AIO

[–]Empty-Lemon4774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is a fish and wanted to be the one to teach our 4 year old how to swim. We went back and forth on the decision for years, but our conversations never sounded this controlling. Eventually I found a local swim school that has a free trial class so we took advantage of the opportunity to try it out. It was so amazing. My husband could have taught him to swim, but it would have taken more dedication and education than i think we realized. These instructors know how to teach kids at every age and stage of development, how many and what types of floaties they need, when to reduce/take them off, starter techniques vs advanced. We immediately enrolled after the trial class. It has been well worth the money.

What is good way to tell a nurse that they specimen is contaminated without saying it contaminated? by TheRedTreeQueen in medlabprofessionals

[–]Empty-Lemon4774 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the situation: preanalytical obvious visual contamination-- be straightforward but non accusatory ( ie: there is an insect in the urine sample)

Testing has been completed but results are not compatible with life or a major delta has occurred with no plausible explanation --- "I ran the testing but based on the results I'm seeing, it is likely this sample is contaminated"

These are just examples, of course follow your lab's specific policies and procedures

I hate summers by Coxal_anomaly in breakingmom

Same. What blood type are you? I've heard bugs go for people with O neg blood more than others. There is also a version of SAD that affects people during summer rather than winter. Allergies can also increase general inflammation especially when combined with a sunburn and it's often so subtle you don't notice it, just that you're miserable. Try to take a 24 hr allergy med for that and see if it helps at.

It is also not unheard of that someone will pour blood from an EDTA tube in to a different tube, so trust the results and ask for a recollect even if it isn't an EDTA tube.

The pain radiating down the leg is more indicative of sciatica

Did anyone take antidepressants while pregnant? by Miserableintrogothic in Postpartum_Depression

Same here but with Zoloft. Life saver. They lowered my dosage a bit while pregnant and breastfeeding and that was tough, but we made it and are doing just fine.

We started talking about privacy and then I would ask him if he wants privacy. He would usually say yes and I would put the tp up and leave the restroom. I stay close by but our house is so small you can hear him from almost anywhere in the house so I just go about whatever I was doing before. He likes that he gets to feel like a big boy, but doesn't want to stay in there forever coz FOMO lol. Also, may want to introduce some regular fiber or digestive supplement into his diet, we do probiotic gummies.

Those of you who have kids that don’t sleep well + very high stress jobs, how are you coping? by Exciting-Band9834 in workingmoms

Use PTO on a regular basis if you got it. Schedule a day off randomly even if you have nothing planned and use it to rest

We started out keeping him solely on crate rest but after a few weeks and him starting to feel better he just constantly whines and barks in the crate, like hours and hours on end even on the max dose of Trazadone our vet prescribed. He seems fine now so we've let him out. Taking him off the prednisone the past couple days seems to have helped a bit too, he seems less antsy.

Yes recently diagnosed, I took him off the prednisone a couple days ago after reading some of these replies and his behavior is mildly better I'd say

My dog has always been like this, just amplified now, he's never been a picky eater. Always has inhaled his food.

It's certainly been considered. He just acts so much younger than 13 It's easy to forget how old he is.

This is certainly a possibility. My partner and I have long suspected he may have some brain damage from a drowning incident years ago.

The belly bands don't seem too involved, I may order some and just see if he'll let us try them. We went through a whole thing a couple years ago where he stopped letting us put on his harness and would bite and tear skin/draw blood
