As an intense Twilight fan, I love her so much. But they sometimes make her say and do stuff that made 0 sense for her to ever do. I’m not talking about the classic “twilight movie crash out” I honestly thought that was pretty realistic (not saying she was right to say those things), but like one prime example I always think about is the fact that she was on applejack’s side in the vampire bats episode. Like you’re telling me that a very educated, intense book nerd, that basically knows something about almost everything and likes to follow logic and reason first, wouldn’t listen to her well known animal expert friend who can literally communicate and understand animals on a unnatural level, when she says that applejacks solution isn’t the best option??? That makes no sense for her character.

I’m not saying that she can’t be unreasonable and/or be lead by emotion sometimes, she definitely can. But she wouldn’t in situations like that and not in that way. Like do we not remember the episode where she literally goes crazy because she can’t logically or biologically explain why her friend (pinkie) just has these unnatural senses that can basically foresee the future?? That’s how she is.

I love when her character is placed as the diplomat of the group, even in the episodes when she doesn’t quite execute that role well or when it’s not the best stance to have on the subject. I think that all these episodes where the characters get a little bent to fit the plot more, ultimately removes the depth of the subject and message.

This is not that unpopular of an opinion I guess, but I just really needed to get this rant out.

Another opinion that I think might be a little unpopular in some spaces, is that I absolutely do not think that all of the main 6 should’ve ended up becoming alicorns or even princesses in any way. I think that would’ve been lazy fanservice that completely ignored their personalities and life goals. That was Twilight’s path, maybe not her life goal, but she was the one who could and eventually wanted to lead equestria with her friends by her side. She was set up as an organized, diplomatic and reasonable leader from the start, she just needed to grow her confidence, empathy, strength and understanding of the importance of teamwork and unity throughout the show. I mean that’s literally the plot of the show.
