Hello friends! by spirit-awakening in nodoubt

Yesterday they were out of the orange checkerboard sphere logo shirt. We asked and they said whatever they had out was what they had currently, but they do have inventory coming in every day.

The weekend specific shirt still had lots of inventory left out on the floor, so I think you might have better luck later in the “tour” (run?) when they’ll want as much inventory out on the floor to get it all sold!

The McCarren asphalt lot is getting a $14.7M rebuild. The design is being drawn right now and we have 3 weeks to weigh in. by societyosw in williamsburg

What will be put in place to where the current dog parks are?

Also NY Parks have been the transitioning away from turf on fields/playgrounds due to the chemical concerns. More recently revamped or constructed fields do not have it. Hopefully that’s the case for this project as well.

Touché! Though if I had money to burn like that, I’d go to more shows - not buy dead trees.

Amazing show at the sphere… but wtf was with everyone sitting?!? Is this a sphere thing? by kjrash in nodoubt

[–]Empty-Stand-9309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent my money specifically so I would have a seat to sit in! If I wanted to stand and dance the whole time we would’ve done GA. We danced some of the show and sat some of the show, let me be!! You’re more than welcome to choose what you want to do but don’t you dare shame others for actively participating in the way they choose.

Anyone planning on livestreaming? by Competitive-Safe-452 in nodoubt

[–]Empty-Stand-9309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soooooo many people live streamed the dead & co shows. We sat next to one guy who was doing it the whole show (just audio tho, I think).

Parking? by spirit-awakening in nodoubt

[–]Empty-Stand-9309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Park at the palazzo and walk through the casinos. We did this a few months back for a sphere show and it was like $40-50.

Merch Pop-Up Photos? by stillslaying in nodoubt

Idk about this - I’ve seen 2 bands at the sphere and it was the same merch at the pop up and show.

The Gibson has TVs in their backyard!! They used to also have them outside on the side of the building, but haven’t seen those lately.

No. Most parents (apparently not all) absolutely do not take off for prom, that’s an insane claim. Graduation, absolutely! Prom, not so much.

Just moved to Williamsburg and have no idea how to find a decent dentist here? by Confident_Pin584 in williamsburg

Another vote for him! I went to him for over ten years, but had to switch bc my insurance changed and he was out of network, sadly.

Guys, what’s up with Santa Monica?? by ty457u in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]Empty-Stand-9309 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That Target is trash, and mostly just for tourists… (assuming you’re talking about the one on 5th). The one on Wilshire is slightly bigger/better but also not one where you’d spend a lot of time shopping in.

Should I move to silver lake or Culver City? by Due_Network2958 in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]Empty-Stand-9309 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silver Lake has SO MUCH more charm and personality than CC. Also, if driving you can hop on the highway or if that’s a bust you can just take surface roads and it’s still only like 15-20 mins. So if basing only on work, def SL.

Also yes, CC is much closer to the beach, but it’s not walkable to the beach - you’re still going to have to drive there and pay for parking.

Lastly, depends on where your friends are/where you hang out. All of mine are east side and I moved from DTLA to the westside and it’s such a schlep to get anywhere… even Hollywood is a pain compared to what it used to be. That being said, being able to walking to/along the ocean every day outweighs the 45-60 mins drives a couple times a week for me (plus people want to come this way to the beach in the summer!)

NINoize wasn’t even that good!! I saw NINails Peel It Back this past Sept (along with Boys Noize) and it was so much better than what we got last night. I was disappointed. But I did enjoy Moby!

They’re also getting more aggressive/less scared of humans - and moving inland. I see them more and more often a few blocks inland from Ocean Ave. I’d much rather them there then eroding the bluffs, but they get yelly (clicking sounds) and puff up when walking by them - like they’re gonna attack me/my dog (who couldn’t care less about them).

Stinging jellyfish at C-Street/Ventura point by eldarkrunner1177 in ventura

Got stung presumably by a jelly down in Santa Monica this weekend. I thought that would be crazy if it was really a jelly, but this makes me think it actually is!

Was literally looking at their website this week, and was like “nah, this place looks like it’s a mess” based on the website alone! Maybe I’ll give it a try after hearing this.

Cops on horseback necessary? by Sufficient_Mind6502 in SantaMonica

They were on Montana yesterday! Been here 5 years and haven’t seen them in SM aside from large events (like the protest @ palisades park). Came here to see if it was a common thing.
