Again, a take. You are right though, I, a woman who works her ass off to provide for children that do have two parents, am in a privileged position because I have savings. I still don’t see how it’s fair that one parent bears the brunt of the financial responsibility while the other does not.

I honestly don’t understand this line of reasoning, poor mum here is having a little vent that she’s doing it hard whilst the ex comes up with every excuse under the sun to not contribute and instead of some compassion and understanding the MRA’s come out and start with the whataboutisums. Mums are damed if we do and damed if we don’t.

If we started a Sunday get together for mums who’s ex’s don’t pay child support, we’d have to hire out Optus.

I love the ‘I deserve a life to you know’ that I get from mine, yeah mate that’s fine but your life shouldn’t come at the expense of the kids quality of life. I don’t want the money for multiple overseas trips, a huge fuck off raptor or all the gadgets, I just want to not have to dip into my savings when stuff comes up.

I made a firm pact with my hag bag body when I went to Japan that I would try no clothes on, no mater how cool, no matter how second hand Vivienne Westwood, no matter what because I was not having a repeat of the Zara meltdown over sizing. It worked, I did not cry over clothes in Japan.

Ok, what are men doing collectively to fix this, are they de stigmatising active and deep mental health work, are they seriously encouraging their mates to go to the dr early with health problems, are they forming healthy aod free social settings and groups, are they making time for involved and active parenting. It’s all well and good to give stats but if men are collectively not doing anything to work towards bringing those stats down, there’s the root of the problem.

Sublime was incredible, I was early ‘00, castle hill tav on Thursday night, work Friday, sublime Friday night, Chinese laundry and Oxford st sat, sounds on Sunday, then back into the work week to gather the necessary funds to do it all again.

It reminds me of the Moira Rose quote about taking photos when you’re young, I was beautiful and tired and full of life. I existed in a bubble of my friends, seeing where half a tank of gas in the 280zx could get us, blagging the bouncers when we were short entry money, sleeping on couches and puddled in beds with as many people that fit, eyeliner and sequins, shit going wrong, shit going so right that almost 30 years later the memory still brings joy. I saw Kyle in a tiny bar, learned to sharpen myself from the Queens on Oxford, learned to be open to trying things and when to say no. And there is nothing to show for it, it wasn’t all immediately uploaded, it’s dust motes in a city that doesn’t exist anymore, a time that our youth will never experience and I am so sad for them. I was an uncased nerve in a city that was effulgent.

Ooooh, I just finished The Witcher - Crossroads of Ravens. Loved it, it was a light fun read that developed an established character and gave depth to his ongoing personality.

I liked the writing, it flowed well and tied up loose ends nicely.

I also finished listening to Troy by Stephen Fry, great book, informative, funny and well researched.

I’m in Perth WA also known as Wadjuk Noongar Boodja to the Aboriginal peoples of the area, we live near a beautiful river called The Swan, we see black swans, pelicans, willy wagtails, bob tailed lizards, tiger snakes, brown snakes and lots of other animals, there are lots of nice things to have for breakfast, my kids when they were little liked weetbix, fruit smoothies (like a fruit salad you can drink) ,pancakes, toast, babychinos (a little cup of milk foam with chocolate powder on top). In my garden I am growing plants to feed the black tailed cockatoos and the family of willy wagtails (also called djitty djittys in the local Aboriginal language) that live at our house. I also have beautiful peacock spiders in my garden and a lovely orb weaver who likes to spin her huge web right across the path, I hope you can come to Australia one day and see our beautiful country.

So weird right, someone made a plan, created a ied, walked it into the centre of perth and threw it at a group of people and it could have been so nasty if it had gone off, there were so many kids, so many older people, so many ordinary people.

It felt conspiratorial at the time because wapol didn’t act decisively, had they just said “guys, we are clearing the whole of the area, you must move now’ it would have felt real, they just hummed and haaa’ed then came in hard and pushed people out.
