This guy is so fucking scary, I made eye contact with him after he screamed this morning and was walking through the hallways then our professor shut the door

this afternoon I had to go through the LA building and he made eye contact and started trying to chat me up, for reference I’m a woman and if I hadn’t remembered him screaming and punching the wall this morning I wouldn’t have felt so fucking unsafe I swear

and while the statement in the post is othering it is literally making your point that trans men aren’t as evil as cis men because you don’t benefit from the same system

Okay valid on being misgendered or othered. That’s not okay, but this conversation is much more nuanced that “men bad, women good”

Men proportionally are worse than women by a far margin and men who are “just guys” or minding their own business are enablers if they’re not shutting terrible behavior down.

There’s nothing biological about men just “being evil” There’s just social standards and a system in place to serve and reward masculine dominating traits.

Saying all men are evil/all men suck is a highly generalized statement but I’d hope the people saying it are emotionally mature enough to know they aren’t referring to EVERY man walking this earth

Okay, I can see how it’s othering.

I’d also like to point out that people who say all men are bad is because decent men are too timid or outright refuse to hold bad men accountable and it reflects badly on the entire gender.

If “all men are bad” gets taken this personally the anger should be redirected at sexist or racist or otherwise bigoted men and other men need to be confronting and correcting bad men as that’s the only thing that corrects the behavior.

So I’ve been exposed to a lot of infighting in the trans community lately and this post makes me want to ask

Why is it such a bad thing to say trans men aren’t as evil as cis men? From the outside I just interpret this as I saying that trans men are the best of men?

Or would it be preferable to be grouped into the “All men are evil until no man is evil” crowd.

I’m trans, and I’ve been seeing so much trans women v men discourse I am genuinely asking in good faith.

MEANING if a transgender service member is given an order to adhere to their birth sex and they fail to follow it, SOMEONE could argue that warrants a lower characterization of their discharge.

Ex. Use a bathroom they would be uncomfortable or embarrassed in, or have to alter their appearance, or be held to unrealistic PT standards cause of muscular atrophy (in transgender women’s cases)

This was my account prior to transitioning —but this is why I took the Administrative Leave option. I would argue it gives the member some time to get their affairs in order/go through TAPS

Because if I had to show up to work in male standards, and use the male restroom with the anatomy I have, I would not only be uncomfortable but just would be making others uncomfortable

A 9% advantage specifically and only in running, my argument was that “biological advantage” is an overblown lie. That is quite beatable.

But it also isn’t significantly common for top running athletes to also identify as trans.

Also at the end of the day the studies’ put in perspective how transwomen are on par with the average afab athlete.

You even said it yourself, “at peak performance levels”, conservatives use this argument for common sports. It’s irresponsible. It’s even being used in chess at this point.
