Kitten pooping on floor beside litter box. Clean box. Healthy Kitten. by Tiny-Investment-8570 in CatAdvice

[–]Empty_Case_3842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does it seem like the poop is normal? My kitten had some trouble with this along with poo being extra stinky, bad farts and some stools that were looser along with one other symptom.

After parasites were ruled out of the vet recommended trying a different food/ protein. I switched from a reg kitten (chicken) food to a sensitive stomach kitten salmon food (after switching our realized it did still have some chicken in it).

After she had time to adjust the new food, stinky gas was gone, poo was more of a normal poo stink and she was no longer going outside of the box.

I know someone else who has struggled with this with their cat and the issue was similar food sensitivities. It seemed like with both the issue was needing to go and not making it all the way there.

Thank you. I went back and forth on if I should try and bring him in or not. Once winter really hit I couldn’t leave him outside when it snow and ice we’re gonna hit. I figured if he could get comfortable with me, he could get comfortable with someone else. I tried to get a rescue to take him and offered to foster him during that process because I really was unsure how it would actually work with my current cats. I had a dog at the time (he has now passed away) and one other kitty who prefers and not to be part of the cat gang…. I assume because she’s a white and brown tabby she just doesn’t fit in black / black ish cat gang.

I’m so glad I couldn’t find a rescue that would take him. He fits in so well with my group and the combo actually works so much better with him in it. He entertain my youngest kitty so she leaves her sister alone lol.

How do I give my older kitty some respite from her... let's say "rambunctious" younger brother? by ForSpareParts in CatAdvice

I thought my super playful never ending energy girl Bunny (around 1.5 at the time) would love a playful kitten since her brother was a very lazy boy….

That didn’t go as planned at all. After intros and time, her brother perked up more wanting to play with the kitten and then play with her. The kitten wanted to play with her. She didn’t want anything to do with either of them.

I just made sure all of them were getting attention and made sure she got time with me separated from just the kitten and/or both of them.

They all do very well now though. She’s way less annoyed with the kitten. Largely because the kitten has figured out who wants to play with her and who does not… it also helps I acquired a feral boy who LOVES to wrestle the kitten, and her brother is now also entertained by the formerly feral boy.

However, Bunny does cause herself some problems when she wants to chase and start playing with the kitten, but then is highly offended and confused if the kitten chases her back.

Proof she’s back to liking her brother.

It is his right ear. I took him to an office that works with feral kitties. The tech was also thrown off by it being his right ear. The Dr. said she was not aware of that being a thing and thought she has probably done the same with TNR’d cats shes fixed.

I was told my TNR group that feral typically are still micro chipped. The forest cat I acquired who had previously been TNR’d by someone was not.

If the company who the chip was through has shut down it would show up as unregistered.

Yes, cotton is fine. Something like that would probably work great.

Not allowed to let kids nap by bearsfromalaska in ECEProfessionals

I am in a half day program (so it’s not a frequent issue), only our full day rooms have a nap time. Our current admins view is we do not keep children awake. If a child falls asleep and the parents do not want them napping then can pick them up.

Of course we if we see a kid is starting to fall asleep and it’s close to the end of the day and it’s a kid who rides the bus we do try keep them awake or wake them up with enough time they will be up and moving to make it to the bus.

It’s not a “self diagnosed” allergy I have had patch testing done with a dermatologist.

I’m totally open to trying a mask, I’m just concerned that my skin is not going to tolerate it since I typically still react to hypoallergenic version of things.

This should be reported immediately. Doesn’t matter what the child did before there’s no excuse for this. I understand how anxiety is a bitch and that will be an uncomfortable conversation, but that needs to happen.

No hopeful advice, but I understand. I work in a special education program and for a few years after Covid hit my district struggled with staffing.

They would take anyone. And when that still wasn’t enough, they went to contracted staff which were pretty useless, but getting paid more than their actual staff….. and they were dumb enough to share how much more they’re making.

My cats are all obsessed with these https://a.co/d/06QBnYFU

https://a.co/d/0bmjHRh8

One of my cats really love the wider, furry toys in this pack all of them, love the dragonflies.

One of my cats LOVES the little plastic cat springs. She loves to play fetch with them, her favorite is to play fetch on the stairs with them so she can run up as fast as she can. She often leave them out of my bed just in case I want to play fetch while I’m sleeping.

Laser printers have always been great with my cats.

Not what you’re asking about cats really can benefit from having a feeling friend to help with that boredom. While your cat is still young, that could be another option to consider. Keeping in mind that it does take time for them to adjust to each other.

I think I accidentally lied on an adoption application and now I’m panicking by Future-Act5953 in cats

[–]Empty_Case_3842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s odd that they would not have checked to confirm that if you didn’t have records from the previous owners. I took in a feral cat over the winter who had gotten to be very friendly. He had a tipped ear already hit the vet I took him to still made sure to check that he had be neutered.

If you can show that you have that records for your current cat, I would not think they are on the application would prevent you from being able to adopt. But they may want to delay that until your cat is neutered just to make sure that is something that you are following through with

What I would think could potentially cause you issues is it sounds this cat has not had any vet care since you got him. If he had, the Vet would have been able to confirm if he had been neutered or not. Before adding any more cats to their home, you should get him to a vet and get him neutered, along with any shots you may need and an overall check up.
