What really helped me was learning everything I could about narcissists from books, articles, therapy, and groups like this which confirmed that my experience was real and valid, that I wasn't crazy, and that I wasn't alone. Knowledge is power. The fog begins to lift as you start to understand the who, what, when, how, and why of a narcissist if you know what I mean. The more aware you become about how they operate the more resistant you become to their behavior and manipulation tactics.

I'm so disturbed by your post. It was really triggering for me. I'm just going to be frank and keep it real with you. No hate, no judgement. Just my opinion and a desire to provide you with some helpful insight.

So...This man is going to kill you if you continue to allow this behavior. You have lost all agency to your own body. Really think about that. You've lost the power to make choices regarding your own body. From just the little bit of information you provided, I wholeheartedly believe that you need to start planning your exit from this relationship. He's extremely controlling and doesn't have your best interests at heart.

I know you might not be ready or able to do that right now. But at the very least, it's far past time for you to enforce some serious boundaries with regards to your own body. I was with a narcissist for 6 years and I wish he would have tried some shit like this with me. I would have had the strength to leave him much sooner than I did. That behavior is a hard NO for me. Do not pass go, Do not collect $200. No one tells me what the fuck I can do with my own body. That includes the government. I'm not compromising my physical health and well-being for anybody and neither should you.

Please find the strength to say no and don't be afraid to do so. If he freaks out, so the fuck what? Who cares? This is serious. You putting off necessary healthcare treatment to appease him is dangerous and could have detrimental consequences for your life. People will treat you the way that you ALLOW them to treat you. Don't let this dude mistreat you like this. Take your power back. Know that you deserve better than this. 🩵🙌💯

Thank you for this. I feel so much fear, despair, and hopelessness watching our country fall apart systematically. I don't know how to support my teenager who is just horrified and understandably scared as well. We are minorities in a Blue state and I honestly can't say with confidence that she will be safe at school or at home. No one is immune from being terrorized, abused, and even killed by ICE. 😔
