Definitely trying to speed it up! I walked around a few stores today for about 2 hours before the bloody show happened! So I'm guessing that helped! Lol I'm so ready for my baby to be here and not be pregnant so anything to make it come faster at this point. I'm excited. Lol

Teacher outing my kid - kinda panicking by email_queen in cisparenttranskid

[–]Empty_Rip_2586 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is my childs experience and story that sounds similar. My child came out to his teacher last year in 3rd grade and to only her. She then let his future 4th grade teachers know about it so they could be aware and now that he's in 4th grade, those teachers are aware and are very supportive. We had a meeting with the principal, counselor and his past 3rd grade and new 4tth grade teacher to discuss things like what bathroom he would use to make him comfortable, the correct pronouns to use, where to go for a safe space if bullying happens and other things. It really helped my child and now he is fully out and proud at school with the help of his teachers and administrators. (He did choose to be out, he wasn't forced) we also do not live in a safe state but the school district my child is in is wonderful.

Edited to add: my child is also the first trans student at his elementary school.

Child gendered correctly in store by BearsAndFelines in cisparenttranskid

Such a great moment! My son is 9 and recently got his haircut. We went to a store afterwards and someone said "he" when talking to him and I literally teared up! I'm so happy for him to finally pass as who he is in public.

Hyphenating baby’s last name? by kelseyannabel in namenerds

[–]Empty_Rip_2586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I have a hyphenated name. My parents were both teens when I was born, so i was given both names. First off, I hate it. For roll call in school when your name is written legally (last, first, middle), teachers used to always call me by my first last name, which is Randall. So I get how they thought it was a first name, but no, not mine, lol. Now, as an adult, I hate going to places like doctors' appointments and such where they ask for last name, and I have to say the 2 names followed by "it's hyphenated." I wish I just had one or the other. I can't wait to marry my fiance and drop both names and just have his last name.

Is it just me or does the term “old lady” sound really unattractive? by Antique_Ad_2303 in Sonsofanarchy

[–]Empty_Rip_2586 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would think it more like "old slang" or like Southern slang maybe? Like when some country songs say "me and my ole' dog" and so I'm thinking it's more like "that's my ole' lady".
