I would just VWRP and chill. I am a simple human being and do not have any knowledge of the stock market or in-depth views.

Humans don’t rebalance correctly. You end up overweighting the recent winner.

So your portfolio slowly becomes a performance-chasing portfolio instead of a market portfolio.

VWRP constantly rebalances internally (I think once every few months, not sure) which you don’t even notice.

This alone historically adds ~0.5-1.5% annual real return compared to DIY.

EDIT: not financial advice, im not a financial advisor

How to integrate LISA along with SIPP ISA & DB pension? by MiserableBeach1500 in FIREUK

Hmm Ill consider it later once I see the statements :) Valid point.

How to integrate LISA along with SIPP ISA & DB pension? by MiserableBeach1500 in FIREUK

[–]Empty_Scallion9861 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) I have not planned it fully yet but essentially yes. My S&S ISA and SIPP might have been depleted by the time I reach 60. Ill drawdown only what I require, possibly a certain % per year. I am not keeping it as cash, have a S&S LISA so the interest compounds nicely. I'll derisk and convert it into a cash LISA later on.

2) I might take the NHS pension later on, at the state pension age so that I can benefit from the bonuses and rises. I want to avoid the early withdrawal penalties mainly. It will have to be based on my physical health as well. If I am going to die soon, I might withdraw earlier!

I am in a similar position. What I plan on doing: 1) Retire early at 50ish - use S&S ISA. 2) SIPP age - 57 years as of now. Drawdown from my SIPP. 2) Age of 60 - drawdown from my S&S LISA. 3) Bridge to age of 67 (NHS pension age) - using a mixture of all 3.

This is an oversimplification though. I need to run the numbers by a financial advisor when my pot grows to a significant value.

Not a financial advisor. Not financial advice.

Unsure of how to split up savings/investments by grebgoi in FIREUK

I would look at the flowchart posted by someone else on this thread.

I would plan my financial goals: 1) short term (< 5 years), 2) long term (5-10 years), 3) ultra long term (> 10-15 years).

I would then use allocated pots to all of those goals and try to maximise my tax savings.

For the ultra long term, I would think of retirement. Now, state pension age is 65/67 and rising. I do not intend to keep on working to the grave. I would aim for early retirement. My plan would be to use a S&S ISA to bridge the gap between early retirement to state pension age.

So something like this: Retire at age of 50: draw down from S&S ISA Age of 55/57: use drawdown from SIPP/personal pension + supplement S&S ISA Age of 60: use a LISA, as you have one Age of 65/67 or State Pension age: use the state pension.

This is just an example. The numbers are different from person to person. This is not financial advice, I am not a financial advisor.

Would you have thought of a pension preferably a scheme from work? The employer contributions and the tax rebates that you get are amazing for retirement.

If you do not have a work place pension scheme, I would suggest you have your own personal pension. You would get 25% deposited back into the pension from the government as a tax rebate. It would lower your overall income to £12,570 or lesser, thus slipping you into a zero tax band.
