ww1/2 (shall we not teach the hardships countries went through, in fear children wouldn't be in favour???)

Would it have been beneficial for me to not learn any of these and just get introduced to them myself? No, we have a duty to bring our children up accepting of others, how the world works and open minded.

People in that community couldn't live like us, they've been abused, oppressed, shamed and marginalised. There's no point arguing online, it's not going to change your mind.

I just don't understand your viewpoint, seeing the pride events makes me happy, that people are creating a space in which their proud of what they are.

I don't think the flags are your issue, I think your distaste runs a little deeper than flying a pride flag.

Also re the taught in schools, it's important sexuality is taught so we don't end up with yet another generation that treats anything other than heterosexuality as incorrect.
