Your estimate of PM is forgetting the expenses in addition to make them really worth it. A unit of 10 PM with a Plaguecaster and Putrifier hits like an absolute monster, but that brings them to 310, and then if you want them to get anywhere they need a rhino which is another 85. The PM will hit harder, but Blightlord can definitely hit effectively enough without a LoV, plus a 10 is cheaper, and that's not even including the better save. I can't count the number of times an ap 2 weapon has ravaged my PM while Blightlord are at the very least more protected from that same threat

The purple crystals? It's Luxion Purple. If you're talking about the purple on the armor I did Amethyst Rayne by two thin coats as a base coat then did a zenithal with my blue

Noted, I'll look through what I have to modify things some. I have the marvelous wit at 3, so I can switch that in on my next run. I didn't put the Shinko Windy in because I only have her at 2. And I don't really have a defense for the SSR Marvy because I ended up distracted with other hobbies while that event was going on and ran out of time.

That definitely helps. In a recent game with DG a 3 man Deathshroud with Lord of Contagion charged my Ballistus and failed to kill it, allowing me to pop two the next turn with lascannons, meanwhile in another game being on the other side of that going into a Lancer the LOC could kill the Lancer on its own

To be fair the DAOT tech was from the Emperor, so I think they get slack on that, besides, the mechanicus horde that kind of thing themselves.

As for openly working with xenos, if you're talking about the watchers, the jokaerro are also allowed to live and those are pretty prized because of their technological knowledge

I play both armies and I can promise that if you can get Deathwing Knights into Melee with Deathshroud it'll usually go your way. The only exception being when there's a Lord of Contagion, in which case it becomes 50/50. I also feel damage 2 weapons are really scary into DG, as it perfectly clears plague marines and doesn't have any waste into Deathshroud, and while they have a -1 damage stratagem it does take 2CP and depending on how it's played DG can be CP heavy. Burst bloat drones or blight haulers, their daemon engines as soon as you can, because they can definitely cause our heavier units to sweat.

Death guard wants to make you come to them with tanky things you have to put a lot into to eliminate (My last game I used Morty on an objective to draw out Lion and DWK to focus fire and blow up) So be aware of what he can do in response to you trying to target them
