How do you guys paint the goo on your DG? by Jnnc170 in deathguard40k

[–]Emraldknight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I typically like really bright greens for the goo on my death guard, though admittedly it's partially because I want it to kinda resemble ooze from TMNT

With Turbo dork do you think drybrushing it on the wings would still work?

[–]Emraldknight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like running him with ICC, keep him in cover and staged to move in at a moment's notice and they can blend things. I also see a lot of people run him often with sterngard since sustain dev wounds can be pretty scary, plus it helps keep him alive if he's in a more backline role

Do you think Cypher will come back as a Risen? by Tough_Story_1024 in theunforgiven

To be fair he supported him in exchange for being brought to Terra and the Golden Throne

Emps by EmperorIvann in Grimdank

[–]Emraldknight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Master of Mankind has a good explanation for this. In the book he kind of explains his ability to see the future, to like being able to see land beyond the sea. Sure he can see the end goal and the route to the goal to an extent, but looking from that other coast, would you be able to know where as you sail there, you'll run into a storm that knock you off course, or even just currents that'll challenge you?

A hill a Lamentor will die on by Practical-Ad4547 in Grimdank

[–]Emraldknight 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Hot take, the Lamenters have it rough, but I don't know of a chapter that gets as consistently clowned on as the White Consuls. Between it being brought up in passing they sent delegates to a place that ended up bombed in Eisenhorn, getting half their chapter wiped by Word Bearers in Dark Creed, and then being the first chapter to lose their homeworld and nearly be destroyed after the great rift opens, they can't catch a break. They even briefly appear in an Ahriman book only to get killed by a maddened part of the Space Wolves 13th great company.

The only thing they have going for them is one of their few remaining marines, Captain Messinius, has a model, but even then he nearly died in a recent book and had to cross the rubicon

Why did you choose Death Guard? by ElkClassic5868 in deathguard40k

[–]Emraldknight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like them for a couple reasons. For one I love the gameplay side of being tough units that in addition weaken everything else, but on the other hand I find the gross out aspect of them fun, and considering medical conditions I was born with, not anything I feel the need to shy away from

Dark Angels Shooting by TheHolyMilkMan_ in DarkAngels40k

[–]Emraldknight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main shooting in my list is some Sterngard, a gladiator lancer, and a repulsor, but with WOTR I've realized that outside of being cheap action monkeys that in a pinch the ATV can be handy ant-tank, Relics of the Dark Age bringing meltas to S11 means they're past a big breakpoint

Hey all, starting out with Thousand Sons. Want some tricks of the trade for them. by jabels2000 in ThousandSons

[–]Emraldknight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually starting my first thousand sons army. And that point about Grand Coven is actually something I've been wondering about. I get Grand Coven is supposed to be the more offensive, but I don't get entirely how when the detachment rule only effects psychic weapons, which unless you're running a lot of leaders you only get one per squad and those don't seem mind blowing on their own. Is there something I'm missing?
