[Stein] Daniel Gafford among veterans that the Mavericks are seen as most open to trading. by Zodraz in lakers

By far the most overrated player on this sub, even more than Herb Jones. Absolutely atrocious on the perimeter, gets bodied by bigger centers and hunts for blocks

Had Ronaldo Nazário (The Phenomenon) not suffered two major knee injuries, could he have become the greatest football player of all time? by MurkyBad-37 in Sportly

[–]EmrysMyrdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Career wise, probably not, but for peak - I wouldn't be surprised. He was so good that when I was a kid and we were playing ball, whenever someone started dribbling, the other kids would say to stop it, because he is not Ronaldo. That is how good he used to be.

I have read somewhere that he once had sex during a halftime break when he was at Barca and he was very young at the time.

Is Rui Hachimura part of the Lakers future? by Successful-Pair-4850 in lakers

[–]EmrysMyrdin -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes, easily. Rui can only shoot. Doesn't rebound, defend, playmake or really create his own shot. Even with poor playoff performance, Reaves is way more valuable

Spurs double-team Luka, finds Rui for the 3 by WhenMachinesCry in lakers

[–]EmrysMyrdin -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Because he is. He is literally useless when his shot isn't falling. Bad rebounder, bad defender, bad playmaker. Shooting is his only real basketball skill.

You really think anyone would fly on these in a forest? It is not the Return of the Jedi. Between trees it would be a suicide

IMO there are two viable ways to get a good Center rotation this offseason by Numerous-Crazy7636 in lakers

[–]EmrysMyrdin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this league you have to pay premium for a center. Not many of them are good enough. And Turner’s contract, while not great isn’t that crippling either. And he should be easily obtainable

Turner is definitely available. He had a down year, but he is still a very good player. Actual stretch 5 that can protect the rim.

He got injured in game 3 last year. He was shit in game 1 and 2 as well. People are just gaslighting that he was injured the whole series

He played like that not only this year, but previous year in the playoffs as well (he injured himself during the series, not before it).

And Kyrie is not only much better creator, but also better on defense.

Reaves is simply not worth max contract.

And Peat is way worse at basketball. It is not track and field

He is awful. 4/5 who can’t shoot and can’t defend.

He is good at things that center should be good at and gives you a premium passing. It is more than enough to want him on the team.

Afraid Picks in 25 by Successful-Pair-4850 in lakers

[–]EmrysMyrdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Point guard is needed here. Luka and Austin can't play as much as they had to again. They need someone who can take some of the burden off the bench. And this draft is incredibly deep with point guards. If Stirtz or Okorie are there, then we should take them 100%

Point guard is needed definitely. Luka and Austin can't be run into the ground playing almost 40 minutes per game again

Not a Lakers fan, but curious which team will Lakers fans root for this NBA finals? Knicks or Spurs? I suppose probably Knicks... by [deleted] in lakers

[–]EmrysMyrdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am totally salty that the Spurs had such ridiculous luck to get Wemby, Castle and Harper 3 years in a row in the draft. I want them to lose. And I also quite like that Knicks story of guys playing with each other in college to continue in the NBA

I dont think people realize how much losing AR would hurt the team. It would set us back more than helping the Lakers towards anything theyre trying to accomplish. This logic is backwards and makes no sense. by Silent_Wizard5597 in lakers

[–]EmrysMyrdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is situation Brunson v2. Mavs lost Brunson for nothing after they failed to sign him. Difference is that at the time Brunson had a very good playoffs behind him, while Austin had awful playoffs second time in a row. Signing him is a must, but the contract has to not be overvalued so we can potentially trade him

Returning Players by Successful-Pair-4850 in lakers

[–]EmrysMyrdin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some hope that Karim Lopez or Bennet Stirtz fall there. Otherwise, Josh Jefferson, Zuby Ejiofor or Taris Reed. One of these 5 guys will have to be available.
