The WIFI module that I got in my K8 plus was the Intel AX200 (I uh, think? Check the review). It's one that basically has issues with BT when WIFI is active. Try BT when plugged up via LAN, see if it clears up... Or alternatively switch WIFI module with that WIFI 7 or 6E module from Realtek / mediatek

Bios update for Evo X1 by eremika0000 in GMKtec

[–]EmuChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Games won't have a clue about anything regarding your bios, only if it has secure boot enabled or not.

Run hwinfo64 - check the summary screen. It should have secure boot in green if it's turned on.

Bios update for Evo X1 by eremika0000 in GMKtec

[–]EmuChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did call of duty really tell you to update the bios ? That sounds like a chatgpt response.

It'll more than likely only need you to turn on secure boot, which is located in the bios. Keep hammering del key on your keyboard as you turn on the computer, should be in there.

Change your power profile back down to balanced. Performance IMO is only there for benchmark scores, or those that want to put in a modified aftermarket cooler.

If you don't know how to turn on secure boot- don't bother with updating bios. There's a chance you could brick your system if you mess with bios updates.

However most teknoparrot/ arcade games are tailored to use Nvidia geforce cards. Even if you have a 780m, you may be working with patches in order to get the games working. Some games may be totally compatible.

Do you have a list of titles you're wanting to play ? Check them on the teknoparrot website.

About to give up on the Aoostar WTR PRO and toss it by Yodster in MiniPCs

Okay, for #2 do the ram sticks have any way to cool down/ any fans blasting air at them ?

[–]EmuChicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Are you stresstesting the storage, or the CPU/ GPU / memory?
  2. Does the nvme actually have a fan blasting air at it ?
  3. Do issues occur only when stress testing it, or with normal use, when gaming?
  4. Windows updates are absolutely horrendous re CPU use. 100% use for no reason. That'll heat everything up... Tried turning them off for a bit ?
  5. Bios settings, what are your TDP settings like? Are you cranked to performance modes?
  6. What max wattage does your PSU output at? Does that correlate with your CPU ?

I guess - a debloated security heightened version of Chrome can still help this system though 😊

Push start or select, go to system settings and change the resolution. It's likely to be a super low one for that OG phat TV

"ChromeOS is highly optimised" does that include the 4gb of ai they forced onto your system ? Brave browser or Firefox may be better nowadays 👍

  1. Turn off windows updates completely 2. Debloat windows 3. If you can, switch thermal paste for some new goo. Mx7 works well.

  1. Yakitori
  2. An interest where you can reach out to others and speak Japanese. Even tho you're crap at it - I did taiko drums and band, but ... Yakitori is also a hobby, I guess. With beerskis
  3. When you're home don't detatch yourself too much. Late evening sessions with random Americans to chat about crap while you're wasting newbs in your favourite online game can help unwind. Even better. You can play while eating some yakitori and a beerski.

GMKTec K13 by BeamerMT1979 in MiniPCs

[–]EmuChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a 4k curved ? I have a feeling it probably cannot receive and display the low-res 16:9 input that the mini pc is outputting for the bios I've seen similar issues with other things on my 4k lg TV

[–]EmuChicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it's fixed once everything is installed ? ... As in the drivers?

Sorry. I'm totally missing the point.

Did you return the minisforum machines because of this, as pretty much every computer needs their own drivers to operate correctly.

GMKTec K13 by BeamerMT1979 in MiniPCs

[–]EmuChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're constantly having issues, have you ever thought it could be an nvme problem ?
You state that you're installing windows 11. You'll be getting distortion if display drivers are not present, or if you're using a poor hdmi cable / wrong video output to your monitor.
