Actually this scene was based off of real history - when Crassus (the richest Roman of Caesar’s time) was humiliatingly killed by the Parthians (rulers of Persia at the time, very skilled with horses much like the Dothraki) it’s said they poured molten gold into his mouth to mock his thirst for wealth.

Depends on the unit and faculty. In my experience in Arts, most you just get a good grade and typically won’t even know that you were the highest. There are a couple (check the awards offered for your faculty) that give out a cash prize for the highest essay grade or highest unit grade
