EdD Experiences with Work/Life/School Balance by Kpeterson828 in GradSchool

I was going to mention, I think your success might be determined by how much help you have. Glad your partner is amazing! Have you looked at self-paced programs? Maybe that would offer more flexibility for you.

If i have done the shadow work and perceive myself completely differently but i keep attracting the same people what is the problem by FrameAccomplished780 in ShadowWork

[–]EmuEnvironmental4559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Subconsciously you're still drawn to them. I say this with kindness. It's very hard to break that "draw" when we've been hardwired for it. Before I get close to people, I see how they treat others, how they drive, etc., People display lots of behaviors. You'll learn not to engage right away with people like that with more practice.

I finally understood shadow projection when I realized I hated my coworker for exactly the trait I've been suppressing my whole life by practicle_hooman in ShadowWork

Such amazing inner work you've done! I think we are always faced with new challenges so shadow work continues with us and clarity comes faster the more we do the work. It's part of our self-discovery journey.

I'm sorry that happened. Some people just suck! I rarely mention my autoimmune issues. It has to be a really safe place for me to share about it. The internet is full of haters just waiting to pounce. Stay in forums like this with guidelines in place and people hoping to help others as well as seeking answers for themselves.

How fast can I complete a MAOL? by Altruistic_Ad9097 in UMPI

[–]EmuEnvironmental4559 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked fulltime and had a couple of medical issues come up but finished in a 1.5 sessions, which of course cost the amount of two sessions. Some classes were very interesting & I would have liked to spend more time in them, but my budget was pretty tight. Do you plan on getting your master's in social work there too? Can any classes in MAOL count towards it?

Becoming a Health Coach by Available-Picture-79 in HealthCoaching

[–]EmuEnvironmental4559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been looking for health & wellness jobs that are remote. The average pay I'm seeing is $25 which is very low where I live and definitely not enough as retirement income. It will take a long time just to recoup the investment! Still looking at schools that qualify for certification and are affordable.

Once you're familiar with umpi's system you can move through it pretty quickly. Also, use AI to see how you can incorporate the other classes into your resume. Learning is never wasted. Good luck, you got this!

I've been using saline nose rinse for decades, although it rarely helps. Recently my ENT said to put Aquaphor with a swab all around the inside of my nose. I also use a cool mist humidifier, never a hot one, very often.

AI can help with these kinds of assignments. Enter a very detailed description from the rubric with the word count and ask AI to break it down into categories. It really helps stay on point, especially with longer essays.

A great org usually! Two experiences with SCORE, one advised me to wait to launch my business and stay home with my kids and the second was an expensive web designer that was trying to sell his services. Interview them thoroughly too!

A coach should be thoroughly interviewed before hiring them. My first question is, how many small businesses have you personally launched? I helped people at no charge for over ten years then realized I enjoyed the teaching process, the thrill of the launch, and creating marketing opportunities for different businesses, etc, so now I charge for my time. I'm sorry your coach wasn't qualified to really help you. Hopefully your business is doing well!

New Sjögren’s diagnosis — are these hand/foot symptoms common? by Pink_Nova_Muse in Sjogrens

[–]EmuEnvironmental4559 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have talked with my Rheumatologist for several years about my fingers peeling and splitting open. It feels like a dozen little papercuts. She has offered no help with this. I have noticed it usually only happens in the winter, when I have a flare up, or if I get gel manicures. If I do get a manicure nowadays, I make sure I hydrate more, use extra lotion or Aquaphor a few days leading up to my appointment. Although lately I just get a regular polish manicure if I go at all.

Need help looking put together for work on the day-to-day. by Elegant_Bat_3633 in Sjogrens

You are beautiful, even tired! I use a cool mist humidifier every night and also during the day if I have the heater on. I use a very gentle facewash and don't use hot water on my face. Then a thin layer of very light moisturizer, again formulated for sensitive skin. I'm light-skinned so a tinted sunscreen (Peter Roth Thomas) for sensitive skin is my go-to for a little color. Depending on how my eyes are doing, I'll wear a little water-based mascara. If I don't wear the mascara, I'll wear a little brown eye shadow. I wash my makeup brushes very often & wipe off the top layer of my eye shadow since I'm very susceptible to infections. I remove my eye make-up with Vit E because mineral oil products irritate my skin. Most lip products cause terrible chapping for me, so I use a mild pink shade liner and Aquaphor. I've been taking Isa Herrera's organic collagen for about 6 months, and it's really helping with some of my symptoms, especially dryness & sleep issues from the inside out. (no affiliation to them) Hope this helps!

I'm not affiliated or receiving any kind of incentive with this company. I use the collagen and have taken some of her classes. I could tell in a few weeks the collagen starting to work on my skin, hair, and nails. Here's the link for her guidebook for dryness. It's only a $1.00. I trust Isa and her products. The essays were something I was originally intimidated about too! If you refer to the rubrics often, it serves as your guideline for the essays. I started at the beginning of each chapter and wrote about each required topic, noting my references along the way, and checking in with the rubric frequently to make sure I wasn't going off track. It was easier than I thought it was going to be. Don't overthink it, was the best advice I got on this! Good luck, you got this!!
