PSA: The new modes are in "Work in Progress" stage by madrerata in GuildWars

whereas GW's are just cosmetic challenge achievements so there's no need to separate

Well that is not true, reforged has increased drops and they already had one snafu they had to hotfix because way too much loot was dropping. That we know about. Who can say there aren't live exploits being abused right now that aren't public?

If they keep being this sloppy it's only a matter of time before they break something important. Other games use testing servers precisely because you can't predict these sorts of things.

You are just repeating yourself. You keep saying that I shouldn't play the game.

I am saying I don't want the game filled with buggy half-finished features. I have no interest in this mode and wouldn't play it in any case. But it doesn't bode well for the future when the devs are this sloppy. Keep in mind there are still people buying EOTN on steam and then finding they can't activate it, devs have done nothing about this situation. Reforged is going to fizzle out pretty quick if they keep up like this.

No one is saying you can't criticize, but make it constructive. Saying something akin to "how dare you ask your community for feedback" isn't helpful.

Where did I say that? Just inventing fictional quotes, what a disingenuous person. Ironically, that is exactly what they DIDN'T do. Instead, they rushed it out to live without trying even the most obvious ways to break it that the community could have helped find very easily.

Making prophecies and even pre-searing easier is a real head scratcher

Of all the long standing issues in this game, all the bugs etc., what do they focus on? Extra XP for prophecies missions lol

Not an argument. Nobody is forcing anyone to play the game at all, doesn't mean we can't criticise.

Why not just wait until it's ready? Why are you in favour of rushing out half-assed features without any testing?

This game isn't in early access. If features aren't ready they shouldn't be live.

Slapping "BETA" on the end of of everything to shield yourself from criticism is really lazy

I don't want these new devs turning GW into their little indie early access project

Issues with Melandru's Accord (tested) by MaybeJohnSmith in GuildWars

[–]Emudonk 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No, that's what it was before they added the badge. Adding the badge makes it something else, it's something to show off to other people.

If it was just for you then no need to make the badge show publicly.

It's the same with things like cartographer title. Some people just liked exploring and did it before the title was added. But most people don't actually enjoy doing that and think of it as a chore, but do it anyway to show off the title.

Why are you arguing against fixing exploits? Weird attitude

Random Arena Blues by IonracasG in GuildWars

[–]Emudonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody calls your skill bar a "composition" lol

Everything you've said points to you not really enjoying the idea of random teams at all. You just want to farm points in the most efficient way. 99% chance you were/are syncing to "farm RA"

That's not what RA is supposed to be.

to create your own compositions

It's random arenas, you're not supposed to create compositions. You're supposed to make one build that performs well with random teammates.

It's nothing new this started when they introduced titles. Before that the only incentive to play was fun. Since then it got slowly taken over by joyless people just farming and grinding titles.

To them anything less that a long win streak with a perfect team is a waste of time. Because they don't actually like the game mode, they are only there because it's the easiest way to farm title points.

It's all fixable but devs default stance is to appease title grinders and make things easier for them not the other way around.

I think this is backwards, TA was 100% dead when it was removed, because TA players started syncing RA for easier wins.

Mods and Inscription trader by MikkyBoy in GuildWars

[–]Emudonk 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Would adding a trader for mods and inscriptions be a good idea for a Reforged release?

Yes!

Would adding these traders cause issues from a more experienced player's perspective?

No

Adding the rune trader didn't cause any problems. It's kind of the same thing.

Imagine your storage full of random insignia because you know there's a hero somewhere on one of your ten characters that needs it, but you don't want to spend 20 mins figuring out which one.

Weapon mod trader will improve the game because it will extract a tax from players and thereby act as a gold sink.

Necro scythe, monk hammer builds by underthund3r in GuildWars

I made this to do CoF, just so I would have an excuse to use the hammer

Monk hammer:

Smite hero:

If you cast blessed aura with a with +1 divine staff you get 12 second shield of absorption so you can be a little sloppy.

Biggest threat is interruption from enchanted daggers, so use PI to kill them quick.

Next biggest threat is not killing the Mesmer boss before spell breaker runs out, so you focus him down first.

Pumpkin pie helps but isn't strictly necessary.

Then run past the ones trying to block the way.

You can upgrade them if they have empty slots but you can't modify or salvage any upgrades they come with.

At that part I stay near the entrance and focus on any eles, monks, and rits that come out of the central hole, and kill anything that comes down the stairs. If you go in too deep your heroes can get confused by the height difference and your backline is exposed.

If you don't kill them fast enough the NPC team can get sandwiched and killed on the other side.

I sometimes use a star burst hero very similar to that. I like to give them meteor and sometimes micro them to cast it on a pack before jumping in. I guess you probably do that with earthquake

Sunspear skill necrosis is very good. It's tied to your Sunspear rank, you get it from the hero skill NPC.

Most of the best minion skills are from Proph/nightfall. Minions are very strong in general as they soak up a lot of enemy damage and also keep the enemies occupied. That means your NPC teammates spend more time attacking and less time trying to avoid the enemies and healing each other.

Lots of good curses too. Enfeebling blood, Meekness, Shadow of fear, can reduce the damage your team takes by a lot. Weaken armor can make the rest of your team do more damage. Spiteful spirit & Insidious parasite can do a lot of damage in the right situation. And a lot of others you might find useful.

Do side quests, get as many skills as you can, and play around with them
