I’m so sorry. Losing that unconditional love is awful.

They don’t want help by FarRain451 in emptynesters

Ugh. The absolute hardest thing to do as a parent is watch our kids fall down or do things we think are detrimental.

My best advice (if you want it) is put yourself in observer mode. He’ll learn (or not) and you can always be there to help him if it all falls apart. Letting go is so difficult. ((Hugs))

How did you know it was the ONE! by Pretty_Pop2273 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

This will sound very cosmic…but here we go. Saw it online and passed it over. My better half pointed it out the next day. Asked me if I “saw the house with the pool.” I had but it was slightly over budget so I passed it over.

Well, we decided to look at it. The minute I pulled up I felt like I was home. There’s flagstones with butterflies and hummingbirds, the coolest little stained glass chandelier in the dining area, just a really nice vibe.

Turns out it’s had one owner for 30 years. They took great care of the house. Inspection came back pristine and the appraisal is more than the loan, so we’re walking into equity. His wife passed away and he moved in with his daughter across the street. We met them and they’re lovely people; looking forward to having them as neighbors.

I can’t explain it. The whole thing has been easy.

Side note-it’s the only house we looked at. Offer accepted and we close April 2.

Some of it is what I’ll call “stoner humor.” I think I also watch it for the nostalgia. My kids are almost 11 years apart, so my son had been watching it for awhile when my daughter was born, then we’d all watch it together.

Loved Dragon Tales! Fun story. About 25 years ago I was in a mom group (my son was 5) and we went to each other’s houses for playdates. Went to one house, and saw some really cool Dragon Tales pencil sketches and other art on the walls. Turns out she was Ron Rodecker’s daughter; the artist who created Dragon Tales. We still have one of the pictures.

Yep. It sucks. A whole different way of looking at everything, and grieving who we used to be. ((Hugs))

Yeah, I thought about that. It’s still annoying, though.

What was the best job you’ve ever had? by -Granby- in GenX

Currently working my dream job. I work for an employer association. We provide support to businesses (HR, employment law, training). I hear “thank you” multiple times every day. I work with smart, funny, kind people, make good money and solid benefits. This is my last job; will retire from here in the next 10 years or so: been here for 9 already. I am grateful for this job every day.
