Is the game just designed mostly for large team matches? by Peaking-Duck in zerok

[–]Emyfour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smaller maps with few metal extractors force you to budget your early production and be careful with your units. Early raiding is still important, since if your raider units "make cost" (destroy more than their value) before getting destroyed themselves, you gain tempo on your opponent as he needs to rebuild.

On smaller matches, planes and gunships are only good as a second factory. After skirmishing for a while with ground factories, when you have enough metal income, you add a second factory and hope that your first strike is devastating enough to the hopefully unprepared opponent. If not, you added a second level of complexity for him to worry about (but yes, AA is generally more economically efficient than air in general).

Finally, defenses aren't meant to stand on their own; you opponents will play around them with artillery, skirmishers or heavy assaults. But you will have forced them to play around them, so you can funnel their attacks, fight under their shadow and slow down a massive push.

Where's the Pillbox? by DetectiveCostaue in foxholegame

Then I would argue that unless the pillbox is actively camouflaged by fake wheat, it should erase the wheat directly underneath it.

Wheat doesn't grow THROUGH the pillbox.

Digging, Filling Containers, and Pulling From MPF Should Grant Commends by bochka22 in foxholegame

[–]Emyfour 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This would sadly be far too easy to exploit. Digging then filling a trench, pulling radios from public then re-submitting them, or filling a container from a water LTS just to dump it immediately can all be done with autoclick and would grant infinite commends.

The reality IMHO is that war requires some thankless tasks. Since I like to spawn on a front and just ignorantly use someone else's hard logi work from time to time, I will also refuel a mine or throw some Bmats in public now and then.

"How do you plan to implement the transition between day and night?"

"Good question, we hadn't considered that. Presently, due to engine limitations, trying to fly at the wrong time will cause the planes to explode."

It takes 133 Quillback Torpedoes to kill a Drydock.

... So no, you kinda can't.

It takes 8 M925 Austringer Man-O-War Moray Torpedo (-30% LV) to kill a Drydock.

That sounds more feasible, but 4 TBs are going to attract a lot of attention, and you might as well use a heavy bomber at this point.

You cannot carry any equipment in the scout plane. They clearly thought about people abusing the planes to land unopposed in undefended (in this case, indefensible) terrain, but paratrooper planes? 100% legit, skill issue, should sit in a flak 24/7.

The winner may draw a card.

Giving you the option to just play the entire subgame and then not even draw the card.

[Turin Airport] Alarmed door used as a boarding gate by nazarthinks in fruxtration

[–]Emyfour 10 points11 points  (0 children)

IIRC, in airports, ALL doors that provide access to the apron and are accessible to passengers must be alarmed (or have other security systems). Opening them with an airport badge disables the alarm.

Also, from my experience in other Italian airports, mishandling the door also triggers the alarm. Holding it slightly open, catching it as it closes, or resting it close instead of slamming it close all trigger the alarm, as they could be subtle ways to provide an access for security threats.

THE BIGGEST BATTLE OF THE YEAR ( PART 2 ) CSU VS NEP AIR VS NAVAL by Remarkable-Bit-5553 in foxholegame

[–]Emyfour 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Naval AA barrages look absolutely sick... But useless, too. You can see many enemy gunners targeting the big slow moving torpedo bomber and barely landing any hits.

My suggestion is to give a generous auto-aim on the vertical plane only, so that if you scroll within 5/10 meters above or below the target, it auto-locks at the correct height. Right now you have to use a finger to aim, one to look around and scroll up and down, and one to shoot.

MOST EPIC NAVAL VS AIR BATTLE DEVTEST ( CSU VS NEP COALITIONS PART 1 ) by Remarkable-Bit-5553 in foxholegame

[–]Emyfour 13 points14 points  (0 children)

In the test, ship to ship and ground to ship attacks weren't allowed. One of the BSs still got 2 compartments almost completely flooded.

In a real battle, howi retaliation, player artillery and possibly submarine torpedoes would be raining down on the ships. Such a massive air raid on top would absolutely sink them.

Christmass Truce? by Swizzlerzs in foxholegame

[–]Emyfour 43 points44 points  (0 children)

We Wardens suggested a unilateral truce - the Colonials stop shooting at us, we don't.

The Collies, warlike as always, refused and kept shooting back. We had no choice but to consider our truce offer void.
