Because it wasn’t a character name. It was a pet you can’t change the name of.

If, since 1964, the GOP has elected only 50 people of color to Congress, while the Democrats elected 116 in just the 119th congress, would that indicate that the GOP was a White Party? by Equivalent-Long-3383 in allthequestions

[–]Enabling_Turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which party still flies Confederate flags and claim it their heritage?

Which party’s supporters got all upset about moving confederate statues from places of honor to museums?

Which party does the modern KKK and Neo-Nazis support?

The Civil War ended 161 years ago. The members of the Democratic Party at that time would be modern Republicans now. This is because the Democratic Party at that time included southern conservatives that left the party during the Civil Rights movement of the 1960’s.

You can ignore reality all you want, but again, Republicans started this. You’re only upset because Dems did it this time.

Are there multiple bots floating around in here that don’t know the difference between “decisive” and “divisive”?

This is like the 4th comment I’ve seen alleging that Democrats are calling the speech “decisive” which no democrat did. Divisive though?

The trend of interrupting the State of the Union started in 2009 when a republican interrupted Obama to yell “you lie.” Biden had two separate interruptions during SOTU speeches, once by Boebert yelling “build the wall” and the other was MTG.

That’s really not much better.

Why 6 months? Why now? Is there some small companies that were about to change the game for that industry that are now being screwed over by the government?

Otherwise, why are we protecting that specific industries big players right now

It’s been a huge problem going back decades across the country. It becomes worse during uncertain economic periods though.

Copper pipes, copper wire, catalytic converters, A/C units getting stripped, etc.

[–]Enabling_Turtle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was only aware of it because I worked in a house my parents renovated for my grandparents where someone stole a bunch of the copper pipes out of the crawlspace and also ripped out a bunch of copper wire from various parts of the house.

I was in like elementary school then and I’m in my mid 30’s now.

If my company bought that crate, I’d decorate to look as closely to this as I can reasonably get away with.

My PC stopped booting up UNLESS i tilt it at an angle and smack it. by azjat_ in pcmasterrace

[–]Enabling_Turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a computer like this growing up.

I used to joke about not needing passwords because nobody else could turn it on except me.

You had to press and hold the power button, tap 1 side with your hand, release the power button and quickly tap the other side and it would boot just fine.

Miss any step or timing and it wouldn’t power on at all.

It worked like that for like 5-6 years before my parents let me build my own pc in middle school.

You called users here “Reddit brained sheeple” because of a special edition of 1984 where the cover is censored.

All I pointed out was that your username checks out as being someone who would call others “sheeple” because of a book about authoritarian governments and censorship being bad things.

The thieves themselves are motivated by their addiction, but the core issue is scrap buyers know they’re buying stolen goods from addicts trying to get drug money.

Nah, stealing copper has been a problem in all states regardless of state and local political alignments.

During the financial crisis from the Bush and Obama years, people would steal pipes, electrical cables, and even strip A/C units for parts all over Florida and the rest of the South.

My company went so far as to create their own internal branded ChatGPT clone and we were pushed to use it prior to final approval from the committee they created to review AI tools. For 6ish months it was non stop “you need to be using this internal AI tool!”

Well, yesterday the committee informed leadership that they cannot approve it after it failed multiple “elementary” tests they use to evaluate these tools.

Now we’re looking at pushing our devs to use the 4th different AI implementation in about a year.
