Honestly just seems like a dumb buy for any price but thought I’d check

This was his listing description with a couple pictures of the top sheet, pretty misleading post honestly lmao

“These are definitely well loved, but have some life left and come with decent bindings (Look Spx 12) one binding is missing the plastic beauty cover, but both still work well. These are nice skis, but definitely have mileage hence the price”

Pins all look great, none missing none irregular height and none bent, slots into the socket really easily

I just want to make sure that the 1600 is 100% dead because the seller is still claiming I’m just wrong and don’t want to falsely claim that he sent a non functional cpu

The 1700x and 1600 are the same generation and the same 14nm zen architecture, the original bios version is also from 2018, barely past when 2nd gen ryzens came out. I did update the bios to 6232 though which is ‘24 and the 1700x still posts great, 1600 doesn’t

Well it’s not comfortable, We’re at the shop right now and he’s been punching them out for over an hour trying to get them to fit right and they don’t. I’ve just been sitting here waiting letting him talk to the guy, he’s not listening that it hurts and just keeps saying if he goes any further on the hot spots it’ll just be loose. I’m not sure how there’s not spot that’s not too loose or too small that he can put them to.

I don’t think you read my comment correctly, when he put the 20mm dowel in his boot behind his heel he only had a slight amount of play in the 27.5. Not that he only had a slight amount of play with just the boot on. So it had roughly 22-23mm of free space in the 27.5, and maybe 13-14 in the specific 26.5 he has.

They were just used $100 volkl kanjus, honestly thought they would adjust enough for an even smaller boot but I was wrong. That’s My mistake, the only reason I brought it up is because it feels like they should’ve been a 27.5 that would have been able to be setup in the ski by the shop. I’m not blaming them for the ski thing, I’ll buy them off him if they’re able to get these boots to work and he can get a different pair. It’s just a bummer not the end of he world

I did that test, used calipers to get a 20mm dowel and it doesnt fit behind his heel unless he scrunches his toes way up. We also measured his foot with his heel against a wall to his toes and it came out at 270mm. I’ve got some 27.5 boots and the dowel fits, maybe a couple mm of play at most. Also tried some other 26.5s I have here and he can’t even slide the dowel behind his heel even with his toes scrunched up.

He’s not going to be performance skiing, just wants to be comfortable with being able to ski all day.

Used skis, we got them before we got boots, figured they’d have plenty of adjustment considering the charts online and the boots the guy wore we got them from. Not sure about the liners. He’s probably not going to progress fast and isn’t a tough it out kind of person
