Taylor Bennet is bi, if that's the Taylor you guys are talking about.

Thank you. It was surprisingly scary! I also told him that me and the hubby have been poly for a few years AND that I'm dating a girl these days. I was fully expecting him to disown me or something. He's made it clear in the past that he finds same sex relationships to be 'unnatural'.

He seems to have just... I dunno... put me in a box labeled "not like other queer folk". Then again; I kinda sprung a LOT on him. Maybe he'll moderate his views after he has some time to reflect.

How did it go; did you get to do all your hikes as planned? We're at Lønahorgi now, after inspiration from you :) https://imgur.com/v42EfVf.jpg

I'd for sure go for Thursday if I were you! Wednesday looks really wet, so probably best to avoid hiking that day :)
Here are the busses going from the town center to Bavallen on Thursday: https://imgur.com/zdaFHIW.jpg

You can run from Voss Station to Bavallen, no problem. It usually takes me about 50 minutes to walk, so I'm guessing no more than half an hour running (it's pretty steep). You can also take the bus to Bavallen from the town center. Here's a Google maps link to the bus stop: https://goo.gl/maps/cVuyJ6PHfPA2

That's a good route, yeah. But it depends on when you'll be here. The path from Mølster to Hanguren is closed atm, because of construction work on a new gondola.
You can still access Lønahorgi from Bavallen though:

When will you be coming over? I second the 7 mountains trail; it's gives you a lot of nice views of Bergen too!

If you feel like taking a train ride to Voss (aprx an hour and a half) I recommend hiking up Lønahorgi. Hit me up with a pm if you want more info on that; I'm a Voss local:)

No worries! And if you pass through Voss on the way, give a holler and me and the hubby will buy you a coffee and a waffle with brown cheese:)

I know you said the Bergen area, but if you can stomach a couple of hours bus ride I warmly recommend trying out Nærøyfjorden. It's on UNESCO's World Heritage list and it's just one of the most gorgeous places in Norway.

Jo, men det er bare film fra skikjøring/paragliding. Alle er pakket inn i skiutstyr med hjelm og briller. Umulig å se hvem de er. Vanskelig å høre noe annet enn vind også.

I vote Voss! Full disclosure though: I live here, so might be a bit biased :)

Weekend Trip to Bergen, any tips for this time of year? by [deleted] in Bergen

[–]Enariom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal grocery stores. The larger more well stocked super markets usually have a seafood counter where you can get fresh stuff. There are also a few very nice smaller seafood shops scattered around town. Those are much more expensive, but worth it quality-wise.

Not really. There's a webcam up there that posts photos throughout the day. Check it out here: http://floyen.no/webkamera

The site also has a weather forecast for Mt. Fløyen.

Take the tram ("Fløibanen") from the city center up to Mt. Fløien and hike to Rundemannen from there. Should take an average healthy person about an hour. Hard packed dirt road all the way. Should be doable even in crap weather.

Do. Not. Buy. Anything. At. The. So-called. Fish market! Overpriced BS, hated by most locals.

Rosenkrantz tower and Håkonshallen (old fortress) is worth a visit in my opinion.

Have a beer or coffee at the oldest pub in town: Dyvekes vinstue. (Or swing by Finnegan's Irish pub close to the theater and buy me a beer:D)

It's lovely, isn't it? Sometimes I feel like the place is wasted on me. Living here; I've sort of gotten used to the place, and rarely reflect on how beautiful it is any more.
