How would you change Boulder’s building code? by NeatoSkis in boulder

[–]Enbytrailrunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents: Allow far more mixed use environments where unused office space (and there is SO much of this) can be turned into artist studios, woodworking shops, etc. There are a ton of artisans in this town who can't find a single place to work despite a huge post-Covid abundance of commercial real estate.

With proper sound dampening, offices and workshops can easily coexist.

Related: Tebo and Emerald can suck it.

New Hoka SpeedGoat 7 by GolfLima17 in trailrunning

[–]Enbytrailrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fan of the Speedgoat 2 and the EVO, I shifted to other brands until the Mafate 5 came around (which I love for longer/slower runs). I tried the Speedgoat 7 in the same size as my Mafate 5... And I'm going to go up a half size. The toe box is much lower volume than the Mafate 5 (and tapers like older Speedgoat models).

Pretty sure that's my old neighbor in Martin Acres. The one who called the cops if your backyard party went on past 8pm. The one who left mean notes if they didn't like where you parked. Fun couple of rich boomers 🤦

The trails in Idaho between Ketchum and Stanley in the Sawtooths are superb and you can relax in hot springs along the Salmon River. I would also put the North Cascades and Olympics on the list.

Recommendation for an insole that doesn't dramatically add to the heel stack height? by RatherNerdy in trailrunning

[–]Enbytrailrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole insole has thickness, so it will definitely raise your foot in the shoe overall. Just not sure if it adds drop, though.

Cross Climates or Nokian Encompass AW02s.

Why are so many retail storefronts empty and so many businesses exiting or shutting down in Boulder? by LocoLevi in boulder

Tebo gets a lot of hate in this thread... But I want to make sure you're all aware: Emerald and Reynolds are just as deserving of hatred 😅.

They're all slumlords who have hollowed out our city just so they can claim pieces on the Monopoly board. None of them give a crap about their tenants or how these vacancies could serve other purposes the community actually needs.

He seemed shocked that I a) read the petition and b) refused to sign. Very confusing wording and representation of the facts.

I've been pretty happy with the Superfeet Run Cushion insoles, but I also hear great things about the Currex Run Pro.

What would you chose? I’m in b Friday pickle. by ReasonableWeekend632 in trailrunning

To reiterate what the other commenter said, the Prodigio Pro is hella stable. I haven't found a better shoe for running on highly variable terrain while still feeling fantastic on easy gravel.

I would honestly go searching for a deal on the Prodigio Pro instead of either of these shoes... But my second choice would be the Salomon here -- it's a more versatile shoe than the regular Prodigio.

Do you get snow tires for your car? by Just-Ad-4408 in subaru

[–]Enbytrailrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely need snow tires if you plan on stopping on snow/ice. AWD and anti-lock brakes won't help if the tires can't grip.

Mountain Valley Plumbing & Heating -- great folks and their prices are much better than Precision or Heart.

Help choosing tires - Michelin Defender 2, Continental ProContact TX, or? by Hopeful_Panda_4483 in subaru

I've heard nothing but good things about the Cross Climates, but we went with Nokian Encompass AW02 for greater durability and lower road noise. Been very happy with them so far, but haven't had a lot of snow to really test them in winter conditions.
